Buffy Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 I know an app that can already do this but it also has a feature to keep the background vocals for a real karaoke experience. And the instrumental version leaves no trace of the lead vocal. Apple Music is late!

Buffy Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Artists should just include instrumentals with their album releases. Labels in the 80s used to include them on CDs with standard releases and stopped for some reason. Asian music artists have been releasing instrumentals for ages
Power love Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Even this bombs hard Spotify will have the last laugh

If it's an instrumental / stem free-for-all, then I can't imagine that most artists will be happy about it. The artist will get paid for that stream just like they would if it was an actual instrumental version.

Instrumental versions not only honour the intricate production work that goes on a song, but also allow listeners to discover subtle elements they may not have noticed before, leading to even further appreciation for the tune. They're also amazing for work-outs and background music. I know Post Malone released a 'Complete Edition' of his debut "Stoney" on its 5-year anniversary featuring the instrumentals for all tracks on the album. He also released the official instrumental versions for "Wow." and "Circles". The Weeknd also did it for "Blinding Lights", "Die For You", "Take My Breath", and "Out Of Time" - the latter as part of a remix EP which in my opinion should be standard practice for artists. Then there's Taylor Swift who used to do Karaoke editions of her albums when she was still at Big Machine, which is also something that should be brought back. Not only for the obvious practical usage for karaoke, but also because many love discovering hidden background vocals.

She hasn’t released any new ones ever since she left Big Machine Records. It’s a shame. I’m grateful for apps like Moises and the new Apple Music vocal remover feature but nothing beats the actual original instrumental. I want the real thing!
