Later today: MLB and NHL reviews. Until then comment on this and previous sets. Here is Kelsea Ballerini's If You Go Down (I'm Goin' Down Too). This song has a great chance to appear in my 360 next year.

JGibson Posted December 28, 2022 Author Posted December 28, 2022 JGib's Best of 2022: NHL Review This is the 20th item of several on the 2022 Best Of syllabus. Previous: Bests and Worsts Next: MLB Review 2022 NHL Review The 2021-22 NHL season reverted back to the the normal 82-game schedule and normal division alignments, with the Arizona Coyotes moving to the Central Division due to the entrance of the Seattle Kraken, who are placed in the Pacific Division. The NHL was scheduled to a take a break during the majority of February 2022 for the Olympics in Beijing, but due to the Omicron variant and China's quarantine policies, the NHL reversed course and said no to sending players to Beijing. Instead, the cancelled Olympic break will be used for make-up games that were postponed during December 2021 and January 2022. The current 2022-23 season brought the introduction of digitalized rink board advertisements on telecasts/streams of NHL games on a full-time basis. Preseason and regular season European NHL games resumed after a 2-season break due to COVID. The Arizona Coyotes will temporarily relocate to Mullett Arena, run by Arizona State University's hockey team. 2021-22 Final NHL Standings (Wild Card) Eastern Conference Top 3 (Metropolitan Division) JGibson Posted December 28, 2022 Author Posted December 28, 2022 JGib's Best of 2022: MLB Review This is the 21st item of several on the 2022 Best Of syllabus. The Top 360 Songs of 2022 list will resume later tonight/overnight, with a recap of songs 360-181 and songs 180-161 to open the 2nd half of the list. Previous: NHL Review Next: Recap of Top 360 [360-181], Top 360 Songs (180-161) 2022 MLB Review The 2022 MLB season started off delayed due to the lockout. All 162 games were able to be played, albeit by delaying the start of the regular season by a few days to accommodate a shortened Spring Training. The Universal DH, which was instituted in the COVID-shortened 60-game 2020 season, made its permanent debut this season. The playoff field increased from 10 teams (5 per league, 3 division champs+2 wild cards) to 12 teams (6 per league, 3 division champs+3 wild cards, akin to the pre-2020 NFL playoff field). These changes meant that Game 163 tiebreakers are no more. As a result of the format change, the Top 2 teams in each league get a Wild Card Round bye to head straight to the LDS. The seven-inning doubleheaders used in the 2020 and 2021 seasons have been reverted back to the pre-COVID era normal of 9-inning doubleheaders. The 13-pitcher limit that was initially supposed to take effect in 2020, finally took effect on June 20th. However, the extra inning automatic runner on 2nd base rule remained in effect for regular season games. This is the first season that Cleveland's MLB team was nicknamed the Guardians. The next season will have significant rules changes set to take effect: no more infield shifts, pitch clock introduced (15 seconds with bases empty, 20 seconds with runner(s) on), bases will be increased by 3" (inches), only two disengagements from the rubber per plate appearance for pitchers 2022 MLB Standings American League AL East W L Pct.
