That being said, I'm also excited to start! I think what we're gonna do is: Top 50 Albums Top 20 EPs Top 100 Singles Top 20 Music Videos Top 10 Mixtapes And maybe a few other things? We'll see about that!

MagBay delivered hard with their MVs this era and kept it a bit DIY but also a lot higher budget. Lemme watching Magician because that's been on repeat the whole week Excited for the other lists!

Posted December 13, 2022 Author Posted December 13, 2022 Thought about making a lengthy description for each of these but I'm in my low effort era so all I'll say is that: The Rico Nasty mixtape is for the people who went through their Crystal Castles and their Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded era simultaneously. Not everyone's going to get it, but I know I did. Don't always get the thing behind Sematary and adjacent people, but Gunsmith tha Mixtape is probably my favorite thing any of those people have ever done. Iceboy Violet does a really great job of mixing grime, post-club and trap influences to make something that's very eerie yet very addictive. Need a full length release, same with Blackhaine. This 454 mixtape might not be for everyone, particularly because the vocals can be a little... grating I suppose? But if you can make it past that you'll get one of the coolest rap releases of the year. Caprisongs might come across as a bit of a sell-out move from someone like FKA twigs, but it does make sense the more you listen to it. It sounds like the true future of pop music, the incorporation of club sounds from all over the world while still giving it a very twigs-like experimental turn, it opens a lot of possible paths for her to go forward with and that's very important, as is the fact that almost every song is an undeniable banger with endless replayability.
