smholiv Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 That top 5 :shook: Beyoncé absolutely feels like a fitting #1, and HYPNOS at #2 is incredible. Glitch Princess in the top 5 LOVE. Truly one of the most expansive and immersive albums of the year. I love so much about it. There's a lot of stuff I love throughout the whole list but let me spotlight a few of my favourites: - Caprisongs at #6 - so glad to see it high, I love that she had a lot of fun with that mixtape and it really carried the earlier part of the year for me - Alex G delivered a very interesting album and tried some new sounds, it was a success imo! - HUGE shout out to Willow who I also agree with being that high tbh. I feel like she took her time with this one and tightened it up a bit to develop her foray into pop-rock/punk. The result is something that hits way harder than last years' effort. - SHYGIRL is the queen of music and Nymph simply proves it - Both Hatchie and Caroline Loveglow delivered some of the sharpest dream pop efforts of the year. They proved the power of their artistries effortlessly. I think Hatchie's decision to experiment with a few different '90s styles was a good one since it showed her variety. Caroline meanwhile just kept it short and sweet. There really is so much else to talk about. From the powerful epic of Ethel Cain, to the grower of the year (for me) Rosalia, the exciting newcomers like Isabella, to the bops on Rico Nasty's album. Great list! It looks like you enjoyed a lot of different albums. 2022 was definitely a success.
