Warnock wins U.S Senate in Georgia Runoff

If Warnock does indeed win tonight, this election cycle will be the first since the direct election of senators began in 1914 in which no incumbent has lost reelection, either in a primary or a general election. And furthermore, this will be the first time since 1934 that any president, Democrat or Republican, has seen all incumbent senators of their party running for reelection win. In 1934, no Democratic incumbents lost reelection despite the president being a Democrat. Since then, every Democratic president has seen at least one Democratic senator lose reelection in each midterm, and every Republican president has seen at least one Republican senator lose per midterm.

YESSSSS! :jonny5: This means the Dems have a 52 lead in the Senate with VP Harris as well. Love to see it :clap3: Sinema & Manchin no longer have as much power as they think. :eatpopcorn:

Nah. Kamala only comes in when it's a tie breaker, so it's just 51. But it's really great news

Kamala can tie-break when Manchin or Sinema defects (though obviously not for both), so it's still a vast improvement.

Not that it matters. Losing the House means nothing gets done legislatively, so really the only gain is a faster track for judicial appointments and cabinet replacements pending any retirements.

McCarthy has discretion as to what makes it to the floor. If something has a chance of passing on a bipartisan basis, it likely won’t be voted on. Except for defense spending and continuously kicking the fan down the road on the debt ceiling (if they don’t actually throw tantrums and cut social security in the process)

But like does this actually mean anything? Y’all act like democrats don’t also vote to reject paid sick leave for railroad workers while virtue signaling to liberals about abortion, etc. for which  they intend to do nothing.

$401 million wasted on someone who will give handouts to corporations and the military industrial complex and y’all seal clap this bs. Unbelievable. Ignorance really is bliss for stupid gay liberals

The fact that it was even this close is embarrassing.
