Lana is the textbook definition of Gaga's "I write for music not for the charts". She does what she wants and her music is designed for a very niche audience. Her career's success has without doubt exceeded her expectations. The fact that BtD exploded in the middle of generic Mc Donald's trashy generic music reign that used to sell like hot cakes and challenged the top 5 most successful female albums of the decade tittle speaks volume. NFR and Ultraviolence with no #1 monster hits are approaching in daily streams certain hit albums which can be used as a Greatest Hit's albums. 

 

Her music is genius, exceptional, highly profitable and we don't care about numbers.

Miley has the huge airplay advantage. NFR! needs pure sales to back it up. Rumor has it that the NFR! limegreen vinyl is getting re-pressed so if true, that will definitely help it re-enter the BB200.

Because she faced so many cancellations way before cancel culture was even a thing, she honestly has an immunity to it now

 

Oh yeah, airplay just contributes to Hot 100 but it definitely helps keep the songs on streaming playlists and encourages people to stream/buy the album. The fact that her albums can return to the BB200 even though they were never these huge, promoted Top 40 smashes will never not be impressive.

Honestly after what she went through around 2012-14, the 2020 mess was like a field day to me, of course CFTC and its response triggered me for a few days but then I gave it up and stopped caring about it
