Hollywood Bowl is a fully fleshed out gorgeous ballad, reminds me of Sweet Carolina she opens with

"I know I'm not Joni Mitchell
But I've got a dad who plays like Billie Joel"

Beautifully written & very personal.

Lost At Sea is moodier, feels more like an interlude, she is just mumbling away idk what she is singing and it's bit of a skip. Doesn't really build up in structure but fades out with some beautiful strings.

It's my birthday and I'm feeling generouz so that's your ROD Exclusive for the day xoxo

Happy birthday :heart2: can you please share what the real title of “Purify” is while you’re at it?

Why is the entire last page comprised of one completely tasteless user :gaycat7:

Purify snippet sounds good. Maybe that's the song that Candy Necklace replaced? Just assuming because it seems to have a similar dark or sinister vibe.

I really wish the leakers would kinda just let DYK breathe a little bit more before they spill but I'll take it. :gaycat4:

She used to be such a visual artist, serving masterpieces like the Ride and National Anthem MVs and every era she served at least a few visuals (obviously of varying quality but at least she communicated her message to us visually), even for the album that she didn't want anyone to hear, Blue Banisters. But now :'(

Didn't like Kintsugi at first but holy the melody kinda caught on and the cutthroat lyrics on her personal life. Fingertips remains the snoozefest sister.

Finally SOMEONE said it :clap3:

Fingertips having amazing poetry doesn't make it a good song

We need to axe this narrative that 1) DYK isn't in her Top 3 best albums thus far and 2) Fingertips is not a good song and a career highlight. She bared her soul on Fingertips in a raw, transparent and honest way and it's so beautiful and touching and makes you empathize with her. It's about the storytelling, the drama, the emotions. The melody is quite beautiful too and it has the most important components to any Lana song which are heavenly vocals and great writing. It is literally in her top Top 2 best songs of all time next to Kintsugi. The official narrative needs to be that DYK was a re-peak for her artistically, because it absolutely is.

I still can't believe how consistently good this album is. The absolute QUALITY.

This will stand the test of time and really marks Lana's strongest work.

Just the way she uses such hyperspecific lyrics but somehow makes it relatable to so many...and she does it for every song on the album. The international implications that that has...
