After revisiting NFR, I have to wonder if Tunnel might be my favorite Lana album... :jonnycat:

It took me some months to actually love Blue Balls and appreciate it. And I didn't really spam COCC/NFR that hard when they came out either, but I'm legit obsessed with this album :deadbanana4: I don't think I've experienced this since Honeymoon which is weird considering how HEAVY this album is ffff

Serious question, do my streams still count if I have the album playing in the background on mute? (on Spotify)

Posted (edited)

A&W remains the best song on the album together with Kintsugi for me, but my personal rankings right after changes all the time.

A&W and Kintsugi are just so special and completly different. Such an amazing album.

Candy Necklace might just be the best song she's ever released. Lyrically, melodically, everything about it...... This song is a masterpiece

I def was hooked on NFR when it came out

And i’m doing the same with this, I think the way it’s so emotional makes you lose sense of time? I just lose myself in it

I think I played it 3 times in full today w/o even realizing it

That might be it. I'm just playing it on repeat/shuffle and it doesn't even feel 77min long

Now I get why the grants is the opening track. It kinda summarize the theme of the album (without the last 3 songs lol)

I think it's her best album meself. Even my least fave songs are at least decent in my eyes

The thing is... my ranking is very different from everyone else's, I think. Like I genuinely believe AKA is at least her 2 best album and UV is one of her weakest...(on that note,  Ave Maria might be better than 70% of UV. I weirdly prefer Rick's and Dan heaths composition than amberbauch's from that era)

Anyway... The best thing about this album is Lana's disarming and romantic sincerity. I really really missed it in art. Everything is ironypilled and drenched w nihilism nowadays.

 I've had it!

this is so true, a song like Kintsugi is so refreshing and needed when everyone else is whispersinging about offing themselves

I don't know if it's a me problem, but I just can't get into this album..

I only really enjoy the last 3 tracks (except A&W, SOTY material). The rest just feels so monotone and lifeless.

I enjoyed Blue Banisters tbh (BBS, Beautiful, VFR, Thunder, IYLDWM - all such good tracks). But COCC was more like Tunnel, with only a few tracks I enjoyed.

Maybe I need to try it again. But I just can't enjoy sitting through the majority of these songs at the moment.

I don't agree with the UV slander one bit, but I genuinely want to know where people have AKA on their rankings because it's really a solid album from start to finish.

AKA should be at least top 5 on everyone's list naur its trew and UV the track's demo by Dan Heath >>>> the final album version

If you have both Kintsugi and Fingertips in your bottom five, I know you're a local stuck in the past. Rick Nowels isn't coming back, and we thank god for that!

Lana needs and deserves all the flowers

What a once in a generation artist. Her music will only age like the finest wine

I think she hit another artistic peak with album like NFR!
Ocean Blvd is not as accessible as NFR! but it reaches new heights in her artistry
