Sucks that this is getting to #3 only with such big numbers, but whatever let's focus on the winning :clap3:

Someone on analboards called this album her most unique and experimental....

There's nothing experimental about Ocean Blvd. And you can try to make that up as much as you want to. I swear, no track has surprised me, sonically/style-wise. And it seems it's the same for a lot of people. Unique? Mmmh, if NFR didn't exist, maybe. I'm happy that people like it so much, but there's barely anything fresh on that record, though I could definitely agree that her lyrics are really amazing on this one. Let's just please be real - I can't with people being shady towards BB and COCC (the second literally being more unique and experimental with the country folk sound, whether you like it or not) when those have no track that sounds like direct L4L or NFR leftovers. Ocean Blvd literally consists of 50% L4L and NFR sound.

What do y’all think experimental is? Lana pulling an FKA twigs/ Arca and releasing her electro-glitch-avant-pop LP1?

This may not be sonically very experimental but lyrically and structurally it is.

Fingertips being a stream of consciousness poem song with no structure or hook is experimental.

Peppers sampling a rap hook from 2015 and spinning it into her own surf-rock slow burn bop is experimental.

A&W being a 7 minute folk song that dwindles and cascades into a trip-hop kiss-off bop with an entirely separate structure and key is experimental.

Taco Truck x VB being a Miami-tinged song that flips into a synth, hip-hop remake of her magnum opus Venice ***** is experimental.

Paris and Grandfather being two of Lana’s most rich melodic songs ever, written over two instrumentals already released by other artists is experimental.

Hell, the two remixes being obscure and divisive and confusing is even experimental.

She’s obviously trying new ways of writing and structuring her music on this album, which she hasn’t done in years. BB is a fine record but experimental? No. It’s safe.

Kinda whatever. Usually streams go up on a Monday

True, but we don't really have a hit. And tbh I thought the album would be doing worse by now after the first listen considering its easily her least listener friendly album. Her fanbase is doing the heavy lifting but we need her team to magically give Paris Texas some push :chick3:

120k :bibliahh:

and still #3 :rip: this would be #1 literally 99% of the time

I'm kinda pissed for the third spot :monkey:

A&W, Candy Necklace, Paris, Texas, Let The Light In, Fishtail, Peppers, and Taco Truck have increased in streams, the others though... :gaycat5:

I mean, PT and Peppers are doing nicely, but I have zero faith in her label. Even a second wind for A&W would be possible. Instead we are getting CN, but hey, better than nothing

all we need is Paris, Texas ft. Taylor Swift... come on do something @Taylor Swift

wait, if the vinyl doesn't have "mother" in fingertips and they were pressed back in october... how old was the version of fingertips that leaked? :deadbanana2: and had it been floating around for like over a year or what?

Those are basically the only songs that will do numbers in the future :gaycat7:

CN isn't tanking but yeah when you consider the NMF playlists/exposure it got and it got stomped by two album tracks from the 2nd half...

If you are talking about the top 3/4 in her discog, GOD Banisters then you need to take your meds.

I want her to experience more sonically with her next album and leave the wordier poems for her poetry book. Even though I love this album, it’s sorta a wordier artistic progression from NFR + BB + CCOTCS. Like give me some mind bending, dimension breaking, neuron wiring  kinda crazy ****, queen. I can feel her sonic evolution coming, she just needs to stop hanging with those country/folk singers!
