Motifs on this album that we can see in more than one track:

- Cracking to let the light in (Ocean Blvd, Kintsugi, Let The Light In)

- Braiding hair as sign of intimacy (Fishtail, Peppers)

- "When you know, you know" (Paris, Texas, Margaret)

Am I missing something?

1. Fingertips

2. Fishtail

3. Taco Truck

4. Candy Necklace

5. A&W

6. Paris Texas

7. Peppers

8. Grandfather

That's the ranking. The rest are, more or less, skips. Even if they are ok songs they don't bring nothing new and/or are not particularly captivating. Still a good album with some amazing highlights.

she also mentions hiking in Sweet which connects to Fingertips. her uncle Dave killing himself while hiking on the Rocky Mountains which in turn, connects to "Rocky Mountain High" in The Grants.

Does the CD version censor “mother” in Fingertips? I want my heart to completely break

I disagree. I actually prefer the remix of VB to Taco Truck, but the track as a whole is solid.

You don't like The Grants or the title track? Not judging, I'm just curious.

Eh, I haven't really connected to this

I love Paris, Texas as much as everybody else seems to, but that's about it. The second half of the album has some good tracks (NOT the Angelina Jolie one) but none of them really stands out to me in her discography. They're slightly inferior iterations of things she's explored before.

Still confused as to why her fanbase hates COCC so much. I'm not a fan of Lana's Antonoff era, but that album is the best version of it. I revisited it today after I failed to make this one grow on me and it STILL holds up. All of it. Including the Nikki song and the Joni cover y'all also hate for no reason

i agree and the same goes for bb, this sounds like piano-driven ballads she's done (better) before.. i still like the album but it didn't wow me like she's always done. i'm sure it'll grow on me and i really love several songs but i wholeheartedly agree.

the way let the light in is growing on me like the instrumentation is soo gorgeous
