Venice B Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 (edited) This album is also filled with tiny little amazing moments and I love trying to catch more of them as I relisten. One of my favorite moments is the "oh my god..." she lets out at the beggining of Jimmy, the way she says it it's like "i can't believe we're doing this" like I love it so much, you can tell they didn't think twice when making this album or doubted their own decisions at all, they were probably like "this sounds cool let's do this" throught the whole process. That probably also explain the interludes, and as much as I don't like them, they make a lot of sense for this album. (edited because I think I wasn't very clear before ) Edited March 28, 2023 by Venice B

Bad_vocal_technique Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 I’m literally so annoyed at how I can’t understand what she means in half the lyrics of kintsugi. There's a certain point the body can't come back from In one year, we've learned the turn of the mouth.
justin. Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 Blue Banisters was in my top 3 (with NFR and UV) until Ocean Blvd came along. And I am NOT sorry, lipsters!

In the first couple verses she's singing about being with somebody who is on their death bed (possibly her grandfather?). When you're terminally sick and your health starts to decline, you might become gaunt in the face, which will cause your mouth to turn downward because your facial muscles are deteriorating.

I knew this was the theme but did not imagine this level of specificity. Thanks omg

Venice B Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 I was just listening to Kintsugi and for some reason it made me think how amazing would be a Kintsugi/Yes To Heaven mashup on tour like
Kh-Loud Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 I need to stop listening to this album. I can’t be feeling this emotional all day

Pandora Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 The way this ***** continues to parallel my life with her music NFR! being the escape White Dress being the nostalgia Blue Bannisters acknowledging the family hurt Kintsugi being the push to accepting grief and trying to heal
Venice B Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH LET THE LIGHT IN AT YOUR BACK DOOR YELLING CAUSE I WANNA COME IN
Venice B Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 the way the instrumentals get bigger and bigger with each chorus of LTLI i'm kinda gagged
Pandora Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 It wasn't my idea of the cocktail of things that twist neurons inside, but without them I'd die
