With this album she fully let the Lana Del Rey curtain down, shared her soul, finally got everything off her chest, and then brought it back up as the album closed with Taco Truck x VB. She let us see her at her core in this one.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chemtrails album but I didnt like any song on Blue Banisters

so can you tell me if I'll like the album and if yes someone please tell me what songs should I listen?

i think my rearranged tracklist is easier to digest for sceptic people, since it varies between the pure ballads and the songs with bigger arrangements better than the actual album;

Spoiler

1. the grants

2. ocean blvd

3. a&w

4. peppers

5. fishtail

6. paris, texas

7. candy necklace

8. fingertips

9. kintsugi

10. grandfather

11. sweet

12. let the light in

13. margaret

14. taco truck x vb

and the bolded songs are the ones i'd recommend you try out first if you preferred Chem :celestial:

Fingertips still being the absolute collapse that it is... Jesus Christ

I can't remember the last time I was this obsessed with a Lanita album. Not even NFR! had this much of a grip on me at first.

Yup this is exactly it. Her closers also tend to reflect where she wants to go on the next album…so if that’s the case here, then she might be working on something happier and lighter next.

I know she said she didn't focus on world building with this album but I feel like she did end up doing just that, even if that wasn't the goal. The fusion of different pop culture references is plentiful here, just with mixed in with more intimate details of her past.

Anyway, Rolling Stone also just did a podcast episode debating whether LDR can be classified as a pop star or alt star: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/lana-del-rey-ocean-blvd-discography-podcast-1234704020/

Daddy, I miss them
I'm in the mountains
I'm probably runnin' away from the feelings I get
When I think all the things about them
Daddy, I miss them
I'm at the Roadrunner Café
I'm probably runnin' away from the thoughts in the day
I'd have things to do with them, but they say

Speak the truth king :clap3:

Also, I think I realized why I love Sweet so much: it kinda reminds me of Enya somehow? Especially how she ends the chorus, that's so Enya-like

Let the Light In is very Chemtrails imo, it's also one of the best songs in the album! Maybe try that one first and see if you wanna continue with the album

as a Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost stan, Let the Light In is maybe my favorite off the album (that and grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep-sea fishing - an absolute collapse)

DYK is making me wanna do a COCC rerun. Stream the very underrated 'Not All Those Who Wander'  with me :clap3:

Just listen to it and give it a few spins over a few days. Idk. If you’re hoping for some easily digestible album from Lana where everything’s going to click on first listen, this isn’t it. But it’s 100% worth investing some time in, because the album is truly brilliant.

every day a new song hits! the interludes today were particularly magnificent
