God if you’re near me

Send me three white butterflies

Or a map to know your vision

Impart on me your wisdom…

This is not our highest-scored (82) album after NFR (87)

How does Metacritic know that LAT was a 90?

The fact that we’ve had to fight to the death to get up to 82 and absolute trash like the new Boyfad album starts out at a 99. :lmao:

**** Phoebe Bridgers.

But YAY to her 2nd most acclaimed album after NFR. Hopefully we can stay here for a while…

The fact that no one even bothers to enter that Metacritic thread to update. :skull:

And of course LA Times is 90 :toofunny3: when it reads kinda like a 100...

The fact that no critic dared to give this a 100. Cowards.

The saddest thing is Gigwise did, and they USED to be eligible for Metacritic. :lmao:

The Quietus reads like a 100 as well, but since their Review is listed on their website as a “Album of the Week - Feature” and doesn’t fall into their “Reviews” section, it doesn’t get counted, even though the word “Review” is literally in the url!

People clearly do not want Lana to win, so we should def be celebrating 82. :lmao:

Idk why my faves always have the worst luck when it comes to these things :toofunny2: I mean it always happens to the ones that give high scores while ****ty Slant and Spin and Telegraph always make sure that they are COUNTED. #StopTheCount

If I remember correctly, when Courtney did the interview with her, they both agreed that London would be the only place they could imagine living in, if they weren't in LA.

And London loves Lana :heart2:

Scrap CN give us a Paris, Texas or / and Peppers video or A&W. Or the screamo song. Or better: give us all of it.

Oh wow universal critical acclaim returned! This is perfect, I fear. I kept thinking “it would only make sense for this to be her second most acclaimed cuz it’s not NFR level but it’s so close” and here we are Break Up Crying GIF

Never thought I’d see the day but DYKTTATUOB is giving me an itch to listen to Blue Balls. Wow. The way every album she adds to her catalogue just elevates the rest. :jonny6:

thank god it got above blue banisters

Something that I've noticed ever since my first listen is how the mixing is kinda weird in Peppers. The first chorus is perfect and their vocals are so clear but the following choruses the instrumental is kinda louder and swallowing their vocals.

Still love the song though, just a little detail I've noticed :sistrens:

This is the album of the year. Subtle and grand, linear and melodic, funny and poignant. Nothing comes close to it so far and I doubt anything will later in the year.

No wonder why she always ranks high with the critics, music connoisseurs, and music professionals.

The outro to Grandfather :alexz3:

Truly our generation’s Joni Mitchell.

For LTLI:

Is it “got my dress on dark cause you know that I look shinin in the light”, or “cause I like shinin”?

“Like” makes more sense I feel? But the official lyrics everywhere say “look”

Yeah there's just a level of sophistication and craft and genuine daringness that you really don't get with other mainstream artists these days. I think the NYT Zoladz review was spot on in saying that it's genuinely intriguing to hear what she has to say knowing it may annoy some people, which feels so refreshing in today's day and age.

The mixing on A&W, Pastor Interlude, Kintsugi, Margaret, and Peppers is borderline unforgivable

Day 1 — 18,3M

Day 2 — 12,3M

Day 3 — 9,8M

Cute :clap3: Almost as much as COCC's debut.

Paris, Texas really is our streaming smasha :heart2: Mess @ Poppers oustreaming Candy though, TikTok's power is something else :toofunny3:

Paris, Texas is just that girl. I knew immediately it would click with people that might not be as crazy about the freewheelingness of the rest of the album. It's unquestionably gorgeous and immediate.
