Acclaim :clap3:

Daddy MC needs to stop being shy and add our 100 from the Los Angeles Times…

I just read on Analboards that they haven't added the LA Times review for Miley either :skull:

id say the reawakening started in High By the Beach's bridge but we'll take whatever they see in Roachella :eli:

Back to universal acclaim territory on MC even without the LA Times rave added :clap3:

Someone should contact Metacritic so they'll add it

Maybe they won't even add it. Like previously posted they haven't added the Miley review :rip:

they’ll likely add LA Times later today - it takes slightly longer for non-scored reviews.

1 Lana Del Rey - Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd (32,861) [28,762 physicasl, 797 downloads, 3,302 streaming] *

She has the #1 sealed in UK, really good numbers for her :clap3:

My variants have been delayed to next week so I just picked up the standard this weekend. I think that one has the best cover too imo, it just really represents the album so well, almost like she's daring you to listen to it with her glare.

Eh, I haven't really connected to this

I love Paris, Texas as much as everybody else seems to, but that's about it. The second half of the album has some good tracks (NOT the Angelina Jolie one) but none of them really stands out to me in her discography. They're slightly inferior iterations of things she's explored before.

Still confused as to why her fanbase hates COCC so much. I'm not a fan of Lana's Antonoff era, but that album is the best version of it. I revisited it today after I failed to make this one grow on me and it STILL holds up. All of it. Including the Nikki song and the Joni cover y'all also hate for no reason

Roachella acclaim in a publication 4 eras later? :toofunny3: I really have seen it all

I sent them an email yesterday to add the LA Times, The Observer & The Quietus reviews.

Same, but I do love that they went all out with the variant designs, down to the different gatefold photos and center labels.

UK fans are so loyal, the fact that she got to #2 there with even BB.

Also, props to Interscope for shipping out more copies of her other albums. There were plenty of UV and LFL this time when I went this weekend and they usually just have BTD and the odd copy of something else.

The song is kinda dragging at that point—you can tell they know she’s having fun with it because she hurries the structure immediately after that line.

I’m guessing she added it because she was both excited for Jack’s wedding, wanted to keep the vibe going, needed to keep up with the rhythm, and thought it would be funny to add a very frankly worded, asynchronous line specifying a detail that most listeners wouldn’t even understand.

Absurd, in philosophical terms. Just silly and human.

behind a pay wall so I can’t see the tone yet but it’s a critic pick :jonny:

Lana Del Rey Plunges Into the Deep, but Never Abandons the Shallow

The singer and songwriter’s ninth album, “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,” asks big, earnest questions and isn’t afraid to get messy.

“Ocean Blvd” is Del Rey’s strongest and most daring album since “Rockwell,” though it’s also marked by uneven pacing and occasional overindulgence. On an excellent four-song opening stretch, Del Rey establishes the album’s unhurried pace and her connection to that fabled tunnel, a sealed-up, subterranean bit of West Coast architecture — one of the few places in California where the sun can’t shine.

Nine albums into her career, she has become a musical mermaid, capable of breathing as easily on the surface as she can in the ocean’s darkest depths.
