God people are so annoying shut tf up. They have no concept of what it means to be an artist. Not everything that inspires art is rainbows and unicorns. On the other hand, Lana is way too aware of all the **** people say about her. Like what’s the point in being lowkey on social media when you’re still on the pulse of everything being said about you? :dancehall2:

Grandfather… has to be one of the finest songs of her career.

The vocal melody when she actually starts singing the “Grandfather…” line is transcendent. Been stuck in my head all day :weeps:

The moment that Candy Necklace begins its transition into the segment with Jon Batiste is also transcendent. It also pairs so beautifully with the interlude after. I’ll keep listening to them as one 8-9 min song tbh :heart2:

You couldve told me Fishtail was a Cumtrail b-side and I wouldnt have even blinked

You could've put Fishtail on Cumtrails and it would've been the best track :clap3:

Dont care for this man but THE TASTE :jonny5:

Controversial opinion (don't eat me alive pls) but I prefer DYKTTATUOB over NFR :jonny5: The former would've been virtually flawless if it wasn't for the pointless interludes + Taco Truck didn't need to be mashed up with VB

Honestly I don’t understand why she’s holding off on Candy Necklace music video. Like, if it had debuted with the release there would have been so much hype. Now, when it finally does come out (months from now?) literally no one will care and it will come and go without a word. She’s never had zero music videos before release, or at least not had one debut release week before. This is a mess

With the exception of Cumtrails (the song), Let Me Like You Like an A&W, and White Dick, I lowkey agree

Also not her NOT including ANY lyrics in the booklets :toofunny3: I mean not even a few lines here and there like on UV and HM, nothing. And only including two pictures total from the Neil Krug shoot on each variant, and then that horrible collage of all her friends and family? What was the point of hiring him? :skull: If this woman wasn’t putting out some of her best quality still 11 years into her career, not only would I unstan over this behavior but I would also be calling the Better Business Bureau and reporting her for fraud and false advertising :heart2:

I don't see enough praise for Grandfather!

Y'all have weird ears for melodies and production (not talking about lyrical content).
Sweet - Candy Necklace (why does this trash get playlisted and a visualizer) - Kitsungi - Fingertips (awful throughout) make up the worst melodic run ever for her verses. The verses' (non-existing) melodies and bland production sound just like any generic white singer-songwriter's rambling piano ballad song. At least some choruses (Kintsugi, Sweet's ending) save face. Lana entering her phase of unconstrained singing whatever her thought consciousness leads her to is just diminishing her genius brain for melodies.

And when she finally displays some level of her much-missed tight song structuring, Grandfather is just pure heaven, even with Jack's been there done that production. This is probably her most beautiful joyful melody ever.

Let The Light In sounds like it comes from the same family of Tomorrow Never Came. So pleasant and nostalgic.

If I see one more person complain about lack of melodies… methinks some of you need to call your local rehab facility asap bc the crack is cracking

Oh, we are definitely going up now. :clap3: 81 for sure, but hopefully 82. Wish the British critics would have listened to the album more than once before coming up with a score...

right :rip:

You don't get to call everything sung that you like "a melody" and then say the songs with melodies you don't like dont have melodies at all :deadbanana2:It doesn't work like that... And also not all songs are made to have melodies that are akin to "hooks", and those melodies can be even more intricate and beautiful at the same time. Catchiness is not the end-all-be-all of quality, never has been.

Also I feel like I'm the only one who is not fond of the trap beats (e.g., Fishtail is good to me until the trap starts coming up) :/
