HausOfGerard Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 not even a new Lana album could bring back Ajay

I have been thinking, though, she really set the album up in parts. Gospel / Orchestral / Bittersweet 1. The Grants 2. Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd 3. Sweet -- transition -- Dark / Mysterious / Challenging 4. A&W 5. Judah Smith Interlude 6. Candy Necklace 7. Jon Batiste Interlude 8. Kintsugi* 9. Fingertips* -- transition -- Cathartic / Airy 10. Paris, Texas 11. Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep-sea fishing 12. Let the Light In 13. Margaret -- transition -- Sexy / Sultry / Summery 14. Fishtail 15. Peppers 16. Taco Truck x VB * = heart/core of the album
Roberto Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Why do I want to listen to Taylor Swift's Marjorie after listening to Margaret? One of her best songs tho.
ontherocks Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 The moment y'all have been waiting for: my top 5 A&W Kintsugi Let The Light In Did You Know... Paris, Texas

kweenofxanax Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 This album is so cerebral. Her songwriting + singing just keeps getting better and better. The mythologies that pace across her mind wow. This is easily in her top 3 discog.

Alex21kw Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 The album has a really captivating narrative and the vibe/atmosphere keeps you coming back. I can't ignore the unnecessary songs though... I feel like the entire mid-section is dragging down the album a lot. The first interlude and Fingertips are skips for me, and Kintsugi is cute but clunky. After listening to this album a few times it somehow feels like she intentionally wanted to put out something flawed/unpolished.

But after doing so, I actually feel like they're more connected to the next cathartic section. They really go deep to pull out the darkness that leads to the healing to come. They probably belong in their own section tbh

State of Grace. Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 (edited) Paris, Texas is kinda gaining traction on TikTok. Or maybe I'm just on GayTok/LanaTok but it's the song with the most vids on my FYP after A&W so far. It's one of her best songs EVER so the smashery is deserved Edited March 26, 2023 by State of Grace.

Venice B Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 I think the title track is my favorite after all... there's something so catchy about the chorus and so magical about how it builds up and up until that epic ending. Truly one of her best
Venice B Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Open me up Tell me you like me **** me to death Love me until I love myself There's a tunnel under Ocean Boulevard DON'T FORGET ME!!!!!!! Like the tunnell under Ocean Boulevard

Trainwreck Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Another artistic peak in her career. This woman keeps getting better and ever with each album. Her songwriting is god-tier, her melodies are like crack to the ears.
duybeeGAshantiGA Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Lmao the infamous interludes made it to the articles https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/lana-del-rey-tunnel-under-ocean-blvd-judah-smith-interlude-b2307701.html
