Paris Texas is 10/10

This album is perfect if you remove the interludes and that one Bleachers song

The GP adores Ed Sheeran and Imagine Dragons

we all agrih the title track is the weakest right? imagine how much of a collapse your record has to be to release the weakest song on the record as the lead her mind

No, that goes to Sweet or the Taco song.

Overall, this is a fantastic album. It's very cohesive. I definitely enjoy it more than COCC or BB. Not that I hate those albums at all, I still use them plenty, but I just find this album to be more exciting lyrically and thematically. It's definitely an "essential" album for her fans, giving us a ton of insight and delicate moments which is very pleasing to me as a longtime stan.

I saw some people complaining about the sequencing of the album but I feel like everything is in place and makes sense lyrically. Kintsugi, Fingertips, Margaret, Sweet, DYK, A&W, PT and LTLI are career highlights. :1stplace:  With Kintsugi & Fingertips being career changing. Fishtail, Peppers, and TCxVB is a really fun run to send the album off. I do lowkey wish we heard Peppers and Taco Truck without Tommy or VB, but as is, they're still very enjoyable to me and I appreciate her doing something a little bit different with them.

This album really ate for me ngl. I feel like there's something reminiscent of each era, while also providing something brand new. I get a mixture of UV, HM, LFL, NFR, COCC vibes from some of the songs. I would honestly give this a 10/10. It's so hard to rate her albums, especially with nostalgia and trying to think objectively and only time will tell and it's still fresh but I think it's up there with her best to date.

If I had to give a definitive top 5 right now I would say Kintsugi, Fingertips, Let The Light In, Margaret & Sweet. Obsessed with Fishtail right now too though :jonny5:

I’d like to know where the GP agrees when Lana has been top ten most streamed females for months and A&W was doing one million per day for a while there

i wanted to hate Maggots but it’s a highlight i fear :dies: i just pretend Jack is Elton singing… not that that’s any better but it’s less bad than whatever he was doing

Y'all ganging up on Sweet aren't you all embarrassed for hating on her because she's gorgeous?

Listening while having the lyrics in front of you just make the songs sooo much better because it’s such a wordy album.

GrantFather is literally the most poetic piece lyrically :wanda:

This. It was impossible for me not being native English speaker to grasp the majority of this album, lyrically but when I got the lyrics to read it was another universe.

Is it too soon for you guys to admit the title track would've been a much better opener for the album? The Grants is her worst opener ever and such a corny song, I will pretend this one doesn't exist
