In a world of quick little viral TikTok clips, Lana stands out like a sore thumb. She was here before them and she will outlast them, always doing her thing.

why are we still discussing 50 year old incel reviewers :priceless:

"You wanted me sadder,” she sadly, sadly breathes on a sad little song about a man sadly not turning up for a date, and I wonder if there is anyone on earth who really does want her sadder? Indeed, is it possible to be any sadder than Lana Del Rey in a blue mood?"

à propos incel…

Meanwhile Tik Tok artists are gonna have to find a new career field when their music goes under after the US bans that stupid app. Lana will keep winning I fear

This is Lana’s most complex record yet combining elements from all her previous albums

Not Variety being the only publication with ears

It's always the same since BTD. If one album gets good reviews in the US, it's gonna get dragged in the UK or the other way round.

Idk why it is that way

If it happens, it will be interesting to see how it causes everyone to scramble. There are so many people, not just musicians, whose whole identity is tied to TikTok and other social platforms on an unhealthy level.

Not that it hasn't already been said, but sometimes I feel some critics are purposefully obtuse when it comes to her music because they're still stuck in that 2012 mindset, it's just now she has too much of a reputation for them to undervalue her like they did with BTD, so they low-ball her and act passive aggressive about it ddd

Iirc that was also the case with NFR, no? Like the UK reviews were usually lower compared to the US ones

Has anyone else mentioned/is upset at the fact that this will be the first Lana album with no Ajayll reaction :chick3:

She better not. Her taste is basic and she will be indifferent to most songs. Did she come bạck for Midnigjts?

Yes, the UK reviews for NFR were mostly mid, same with UV whereas they loved BTD and the US reviewers dragged it to hell. COCC reviews were better in the UK than in the US which is strange enough

I mean Gigwise literally exposed many of the British critics for missing entire songs or not fully listening before reviewing

Don't worry, if they ban TikTok another similar app will pop up with another name. It's here to stay, unfortunately.

That review is like a fever dream for Lana stans. Perfect score, sums up everything we love about her and exposed the haters.

It's cute, but probably my least fave of the last 3 tracks because it feels the least inspired.

any other NFR! easter eggs that i missed other than:

a&w samples nfr title track

margaret samples love song (intro)

cinnamon lyric referenced in candy necklace

taco truck x vb, duh

Let The Light In singing love song in the melody of love song.

Oooo the spice on the back half of the album. I'm feeling it. Would love her to explore more in this direction. She already has, to a degree, created her own modern psychedelia in past songs that should could really cement as her own if she explored it more.

Also, just when I start to forget that VB is her best song, she remixes it and puts it on the album outro as a slap in the face to wake me back up. Queen ****.

Streaming services should introduce a "Trigger Warning" tag along with the Explicit one, starting with Fingertips. I still cannot fully wrap my mind around everything she said in that one...the way she poured more into that single song than some artists do their entire career
