Yes there’s piano here but the productions are far more full and lush BB felt like intro to her confessional wordy lyrics era, COCC has some of her first really folky-country vibes, so I see the comparisons. BB is her worst album for me because i feel like half of it was trying to be this album (namely the 3 singles, arcadia, and like 2-3 new songs) then half was recycled and too timid lyrically to feel like an actual statement.
WildAmerican Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 trying to reckon with A&W and its spot on the album, it's so different from the rest of the it lyrically and melodically....
Rider Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Paris Texas, Let The Light In and Taco Truck x VB the trinity

Yea but the entire theme and all the albums experimental elements just elevate it so far beyond the previous two that the comparisons seem very surface level
CottageHore Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 The piano on this album is how piano should be used. Each piano has its own melody. Candy Necklace, Sweet, A&W, Paris, Grandfather so melodic
Pendulum Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 (edited) 1. Margaret 2. Grandfather 3. Judah Smith Interlude 4. Peppers 5. Paris, Texas my top 5 Edited March 24, 2023 by Pendulum
State of Grace. Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 It takes me months to properly rank her new albums tbh, but it is safe to say it's a HOT SHOT DEBUT in her Top 3 for now. I still need to dive deeper into the songs and let them sink in.

brooklyndaddy Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 1. UV 2. NFR 3. HM 4. BTD/P 5. Ocean 6. COCC 7. LFL 8. BB Much less a fan of her piano balladry nor Jack’s phoned in trap-lite than the times when she really created a sonic world. That said, I enjoy this album and it’s more colorful than her last few offerings. In other words, I prefer cigarette Lana over baddie doing the laundry Lana

CottageHore Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Fishtail is a Top 3 album track and already in her Top 30 songs. But y’all aren’t ready to have that conversation!
CottageHore Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Peppers just smacked me in the buss Was a 6/10 last night, but she’s moving through me like an 8/10 this Friday morning. I fear she’s a grower!
Indie Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Got a knife in my jacket, honey on the vine Baby I'll bring the coffee if you bring the wine I'm in love, I'm in love Cause I'm in looooooove
Mariah's Glove Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I’m glad I’m stupid because I genuinely don’t hear the mastering stuff, but maybe I just don’t have good enough headphones or I don’t know what to listen to One thing I do hear though, is do the candy necklace vocals sound…kind of weird? To anyone else. I don’t know how to describe it, but it almost just sounds like a live performance on a radio show or something.
