Lana Del Rey - 'Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd'

Wait the LFL comparisons are kinda tea now that i think about it. Like a mix of the past albums, but since the past albums here are her peak song writing wise, they are way better than the LFL tracks :jonny5:

Born To Die (Paradise), Ultraviolence, Honeymoon, Lust For Life = era 1

Norman, Chemtrails, Blue Banisters, Ocean Blvd = era 2

Especially with how OB references NFR so much :jonny:

Her mind

The 1st part of the album was ok.... the I stuggle a lot in the middle of the album, I was about to drop this album but at the end the last songs gave me something more fresh & intersting

Overall is not my fave Lana album TBH, maybe i should give it another listening, it felt like a very long album, I could delete some songs to make this project better

Anyone who is struggling with the Kintsugi ->Fingertips 1-2 punch, i suggest listening with the lyrics and paying full attention, it makes them so much better :jonny:

I don't think y'all understand how gorgeous Sweet is. Why is this song hitting me so hard. :'(

IKR it’s an instant discography highlight

Oh she liked that Pitchfork review :gaycat4:

I think I need this weekend to play this with my full attention but after the first play through, I went back immediately to Candy Necklace. Let the Light In is excellent but it did feel out of place in an album with such hyperspecific songs spread throughout. I don't think there were any duds, even the long and jarring Judah Smith Interlude kind of works.

People just need to listen to the album more than once before forming an opinion (unlike the critics, but we'll harvest that fruit on the year-end lists). This is a long album and will take a few listens to sink in.

Who cares what it’s rated. The only ones that actually matters even a little bit are pitchfork and rolling stone who gave rave reviews

That's true. RS and P4F are the only ones that really matter cause they are read by a lot of casual listeners, too.

Lana stans just have to stream, especially in the Anglosphere. The rest of the world will have a hard time with such a lyrics heavy record.

The 1,2 punch that will age the best is The Grants - Ocean - Sweet. :heart2:

If you play the album on loop then Taco Truck - The Grants - Ocean. :heart2:

Kintsugi the star at the mid of the record.

this rearrangement of the tracklist has made me replay the album three times without issues;

Spoiler

1. The Grants

2. Ocean Blvd

3. Sweet

4. A&W

5. Peppers

6. Fishtail

7. Paris, Texas

8. Candy Necklace

9. Grandfather

10. Kintsugi

11. Margaret

12. Let The Light In

13. Fingertips

14. Taco Truck x VB

it introduces the more heavily produced songs right after A&W to keep the momentum up, but the ending of Fishtail is somber enough to go into the next two tracks without it feeling overbearing. then the rest of the sequence is following a pattern of song with drums-ballad-drums-ballad until the big finale of Taco Truck :chick1:

I am sorry but I had to delete Fingertips. Tried like 10 times and didn't hit. What an absolute BORE
