Sadie Saxton Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Probably in her top 3 albums for me 1. NFR 2. UV 3 DYKTTATUOB though BTD is close I think my top 5 are (in no specific order) 1. Kintsugi 2. Paris, Texas 3. Grandfather 4. Fishtail 5. Sweet/A&W (can’t decide) honorable mention to Fingertips for PHENOMENAL songwriting and Margaret - and LOVE the VB send off
State of Grace. Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Okay so after 2 listens: 1. Fingertips 2. A&W 3. Paris, Texas 4. Grandfather 5. Kintsugi 6. Ocean Blvd 7. Candy Necklace 8. Taco Truck x VB 9. The Grants 10. Fishtail 11. Let The Light In 12. Margaret 13. Sweet 14. Peppers I'm still so overwhelmed but I love a good trauma dump. I absolutely LOVE every song here and I can see my ranking changing over the week as I do a deep dive into the lyrics. The interludes are a bit long but I'm so in love with the instrumental on the pastor one so idc what he's rambling about. This album is such a triumph and it's definitely one for the diehard liddo anals. I wouldn't be surprised if she even loses some listeners after this.
brokee Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Hearing VB in a new album was a spiritual experience. i love that song so much

bye Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Kintsugi and Margaret try their best to ruin the album. Honestly feel like it wouldve been received better overall if not for those two, literal bloat.

No they are not. Im sure they were bullied when they were in highschool to hold this grudge toward our white beautiful lady. I hope they continued to be bullied Edited March 24, 2023 by duybeeGAshantiGA

CottageHore Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 On second listen Fishtail is SNATCHING ME. I was on the stairs Ella Fitzgerald in the air Feelin' hella rare Baby, if you care Baby, don't you dare say You'll braid my hair, see
Ice Cream Skies Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 people tried so hard to make Margaret a filler/flop when it's probably the most acclaimed song from the entire album outside of A&W so far.

CottageHore Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 It’s only been one listen so who knows how this will stand the test of time, but this will easily nudge COTCC out of the Top 3 and might surpass NFR for my second favorite album. Will UV be shaking in her boots down the line too? That #1 spot is approaching
Ice Cream Skies Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 grandfather i'm in tears give this song her flowers
@michael Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I just can’t believe it, let me process for a minute

JoeAg Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 just as i had suspected! i like the title track way better in the context of the album and Sweet is already making its way to being one of my all time fav Lana songs

Mariah's Glove Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 The way the “aaaaahhhaaaaa…ahhhhaaaaa” from Venice ***** creeps in as the bass builds
LustSpell Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 This is the experience of being an American ***** is possibly one of the rawest lines she has written. So glad I waited to hear it in context of the album
