Let The Light In a California rehash? What?

I prefer that Kinsungi song over Fingerings

it sounds like it came out of those sessions. the vocal delivery, the sentiment, the lyrics, the chords - it's a very similar song.

also fingertips is miles better than kintsugi imo

They better not engage too much with Taco, Pepper and Grandfather :giraffe:

The overblown reaction to the covid line is really pissing me off, who gives a ****! Imagine thinking that line is something scandalous when covid vaccines have been out there for a year now, the virus is not going away anytime soon. Anyway, any critic who thinks the line is something to criticize is a literal baby and should grow the **** up

I listened to this thing from front-to-back (with Candy Necklace, sadly, being in LQ), and I'm sitting at a 6 or 7 out of 10. Aside from the novelty of listening to new music, I cannot see anyone replaying this album more than NFR! For one, it's 10 minutes longer than NFR! and boy does it feel long. Moreover, it's the most ballad-heavy record Lana's made. That's not a bad thing, but from The Grants to Let the Light In, just A&W isn't a slow track. Fortunately, there's some great ballads on here like The Grants, the title track, Sweet, and Grandfather.

Some songs could've absolutely been axed like Kintsugi and Fingertips-- sorry.

I also don't know what to make of the interludes.

I admire the ambition of the record, but I prefer my Lana records to be more succinct and cohesive like NFR! or COCC. I'd be comfortable saying this is her 3rd or 4th best album, but the best Lana album when NFR! and COCC exist? Not a chance.

That being said, this is from listening to the album from track #1 to track #16. I've listened to the first half or bottom half, but today was the first day I had to really listen to the entire album.

I will say Tommy Genesis is hilarious on Peppers and Venice ***** is remixed in a gnarly way.
