How are we abbreviating this album title, ladies? DYK (Did You Know) or OB (Ocean Boulevard)?

DYK looks messy for obvious reasons :skull:

We’ve already got COCC so what’s the issue

I think this early Pitchfork review sums it up at the end

Ma’am this is Let Me Love You Like A Woman Part 2… I hope that at least means there’s a White Dress coming to save the day

The thing that I don't like about the album cover is it stating this is her "ninth" studio album... Is she including Paradise? Because that's decidedly not a full length album. I'm assuming it's AKA? Because it seems strange to reference an album that is not available to listeners without pirating. IDK just seems strange for her to finally kind of recognize that as her "debut" after 10 years.

Why would she include AKA? I don't remember her ever claiming it as an official album. It's most definitely Paradise. Which also rings at nearly 40 minutes which is quite average for today standards in terms of studio albums :ahh:

I for one actually prefer her last three albums to her first four. I mean clearly I'm in the minority given how much people love BTD and UV but I feel like she really hit her groove with NFR, COTCC and BB, and I'm glad she's continuing with this style.

This tunnel was built years ago but it has fallen into disuse to the point a lot of people don't even know it exists. Lana doesn't want to be forgotten like the tunnel was. Basically that's it :celestial5:

Thank you :clap3:

Anyone know where else you can order the dark pink vinyl besides Target/HMV/Fnac?

The first two don’t ship internationally and I had a horrible experience with Fnac so any help is appreciated!

Oh, I think I also saw it on Jb Hifi but it’s crazy expensive

Why do people get so annoying E V E R Y era about her sound :deadbanana2: she has a style and sticks to it, there's nothing wrong with that :michael: it evolves well enough every album. Not every artist needs to reinvent the wheel everytime they put something out

It's funny because as she releases new albums I kinda get detatched from the old ones. It's not like her first albums are bad, I still listen to them a lot, but her evolution gets more and more clear with each album she releases and when I really want to listen to her I tend to go for the most recent albums.

You are all over this board seething with bad opinions. I’m glad you’re at least aware that you deserve to be checked for them.

OT: So stoked for the Tommy Genesis feature. Two of my favorite artists I never expected to work together. I wonder what it’s going to sound like.

Where else am I seething with bad opinions? I barely post. I probably post 10x on this site a month. Am I not allowed to have an opinion on a new song by an artist that I used to think was the second coming of Jesus Christ? I literally come on here and check for Britney news and leave so I don’t know where these mythical bad opinion posts you’ve conjured have come from.

Ot - at least her voice sounds nice.

The alchemy between her and Jack is out of this world. They both bring the best out of each other.

You were really excited about her new song that we only learned about like 18 hours ago, after apparently hating her last several albums? Get a grip!

Yea I was exciting because every now and then she pulls it out of the bag (Tulsa Jesus freak, dark but just a game etc) and she’s is my second favourite artist of all time so of course I’m always excited about new releases from her. The last couple of pages in this thread is exactly why I’m not in any of her threads usually because you can’t have a differing opinion without being spoken down to by people who act pretentious but are probably secretly just as disappointed with the song as I am.

Looking back I think Lust For Life was a homage to the people who liked the Born To Die sound, a farewell of sorts like "this is it I'm not doing this kind of sound ever again". It was also the last album she heavily worked with Rick Nowells before shifting into a new direction and starting a new collaboration with Jack. I wonder if Ocean Blvd will also be a farewell of sorts, if she will move on to another producer like she did after four albums with Rick.

Sorry I don't like it. She's going back to her comfort zone again. There's no melody and she's just reciting a poem like the last 2 albums. Erg

NFR is phenomenal. A once in a generation type of album full of meaningful songs, beautiful melodies and perhaps the best songwriting of her career. The style isn’t the issue here it’s the fact that the song just goes nowhere.

Her whole discography is a journey. When you think of it, from beginning to end, what she managed to do in just a decade is out of this world. The constant evolution and progression in sound, lyrics, storytelling.

And we’re all growing older with her, leaving behind us a lot of insecurities hidden behind certain surfaces and becoming more mature, self-conscious and unafraid to speak about certain themes.

To be honest with you, I feel privileged to love her since day one and be able to follow this journey with her music.

I like it, but it sounds like what she has been serving for the last 2 years. Hope the album switches sounds and production up.
