Oh, I think they count, don't they?

Why is Mojo still not added?

I don't think The Forty-Five counts on MC but both are on AOTY. MC might be taking longer to verify Mojo since it appeared in print only and isn't readily available online yet.

all the reviews i've read get her intentions behind this album so i hope she can chill, they all love you babe they just hate the shitty interludes and sometimes display a lack of taste (especially clash music for not liking margaret and candy necklace) just like here on atrl but that's the way it goes...

they love her, they love her catalog, they get the tea...

I see it too, they know it's a messy record but the message came through, maybe too strongly for some but it's there.

Ready to dig into the inevitable Pitchfork essay though.

I just looked it up. They stopped counting for MC in late 2019

When I was 15 naked

Next door neighbors did a drive-by

Pulled me up by my

Waist long hair to the beach side

I wanted to go out like you

Swim with the fishes

That he caught on Rhode Island beaches…

not seeing enough acclaim for GODfather. Top 5 in her discography.

I do hope she pivots away from Drew and Josh after this project. The sonics feel (and literally are) a bit recycled.

That sucks, they scored her pretty positively on the last few albums.

I miss PMA though, I would've loved to see their thoughts on NFR! up to now :'(

The perfect tracklist :

"The Grants”
“Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd”
“Sweet”
“AW”
“Judah Smith Interlude”
“Candy Necklace”
“Jon Batiste Interlude”
“Kintsugi”
“Fingertips”
“Paris, Texas”
“Grandfather Please Stand On The Shoulders Of My Father While He’s Deep-Sea Fishing”
“Let The Light In (feat. Father John Misty)”
“Margaret (feat. Bleachers)”
“Fishtail”
“Peppers (feat. Tommy Genesis)”
“Taco Truck x VB”

100/100 on MC  :jonnycat:

A lot of magazines struggled and still do. Music print is hardly something that makes a lot of profit.

This ATROCIOUS WAY to present the album to critics, apparently "to avoid leaks" (when boz, every insider, and their mom had already listened to it 5 months prior and to leak a week before), is insane to me. No wonder every review that has come out (maybe except RollingStone and Guardia) is very superficial, complaining of the length and not really engaging with the material. I wonder if the more significant publications received a link or if Interscope had a different approach. Polygon really was very dumb to do this, in this way, with shitty sound and trapping journalists into a room. No wonder they all seem impatient about the album length

Exactly. I'd say in the same way NFR received a bunch of 8 reviews (though it had a couple of 9's) and Pitchfork's grade kinda shaped the discourse around it, specially naming her the next great American song-writer

You **** do way too much on Sweet. There's nothing wrong with it at all.

It’s really not. NFR practically has zero skips, this has the odd one :bird:

I think when I said better I meant to say *as good as*

It's wild to look at the BTD reviews and compare it to the ones now and, while she's improved her musicianship and craft tremendously, it's like they were for two completely different artists. It goes from questioning her vision, gimmicks, and authenticity to now not being sure if they can handle all the truths she's suddenly throwing out there for them to consume. Whew

Okay. Fingertips, Kintsugi are already classics for her I fear :jonnycat: LTLI is simply gorgeous, it gives me LFL vibes.

Margaret is very sweet, I like it. Fishtail gives me that "quintessential Lana" vibe, really enjoy that one too. Concentrating on these ones for now, but on release day I will listen in order on repeat to get a feel for each. Ugh I can't wait.
