Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd is the ninth studio album from acclaimed singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey, comprising 16 tracks and interludes with features including Father John Misty, Tommy Genesis, Jon Batiste, Bleachers and more.

It follows the prolific artist's 2021 albums Chemtrails Over The Country Club and Blue Banisters.

Standard heavyweight black double vinyl in gatefold sleeve.

Y'all need to listen to Mariners -> Chemtrails (title track) -> Blue Banisters (title track) -> Tunnel (title track) in a row and just absorb the ******* emotion. She's truly firing from all cylinders right now.

She tapped into something big the moment she decided to stop making her music accessible/uptempo/beat heavy, not that that was what she was known for anyway. No one else can pull it off like her right now, they have no choice but to follow the BTD/UV templates from last decade.

Come at me all you like with your ‘you just don’t get it maybe you’re not deep enough to understand art’ bullshit but this is another chemtrails/blue bannisters style wordy, meaningless mess that goes nowhere.

Why on earth did one of the most interesting and unique artists of our time divulge to this nonsense. I blame Jack Antanoff because I don’t think I’ve heard an interesting song from him since the Fun. days, but Lana girl it’s time to put that ‘gangster Nancy Sinatra’ costume back on and challenge yourself once more.

excited for the music video filmed on her iPhone of her looking at flowers or whatever with her sister in the background

I was the biggest Lana fan. waiting outside in the freezing cold and rain to meet her and talk to her type fan (and she was lovely) so why can I not come into a thread about her new song which I was really excited about to express my thoughts? Are you the music police?

Crazy to think NFR! was just 3 years ago :deadbanana2:

Maybe or maybe people have a sunken cost fallacy here and feel like it makes them superior and edgy if they like wordy songs that go nowhere. Lana is a great songwriter but she is not a poet.

Why are you trying to rain on our parade? You're projecting. She IS a poet, thank you very much. She's also mother. Now scram!

i don't think anyone here feels that way :–)

great songwriting can make you win the nobel prize so. i guess the lines are blurred

The song sounds like Lana on auto-pilot

It's still nice enough though.

I mean she literally writes poetry and has a poetry book out so she's literally a poet but go off!

And if you think her songs are wordy and go nowhere then yeah you obviously don't understand them :bibliahh:

or maybe you just feel inferior for not liking the song and you are projecting those feelings and hurt onto everyone who enjoys it.

it's okay sweetie, you are allowed to not like it. it doesn't make you any less of a fan. but having this little meltdown is not a cute look!

You are all over this board seething with bad opinions. I’m glad you’re at least aware that you deserve to be checked for them.

OT: So stoked for the Tommy Genesis feature. Two of my favorite artists I never expected to work together. I wonder what it’s going to sound like.

Considering nowadays more and more Lana songs aren’t bound by conventional structure (or any even), she is far more of a poet than a songwriter

It isn’t :) unless we are bringing back the talk of Violet being counted as her studio album

Omg I was so excited when I saw the announcement, but the song is not doing anything for me :katie: Nothing that sounds too different from her last 3 albums.

Think I'll hold off from pre-ordering this one for now, but will def listen to it when it comes out next year.

The thing that I don't like about the album cover is it stating this is her "ninth" studio album... Is she including Paradise? Because that's decidedly not a full length album. I'm assuming it's AKA? Because it seems strange to reference an album that is not available to listeners without pirating. IDK just seems strange for her to finally kind of recognize that as her "debut" after 10 years.

You were really excited about her new song that we only learned about like 18 hours ago, after apparently hating her last several albums? Get a grip!

How are we abbreviating this album title, ladies? DYK (Did You Know) or OB (Ocean Boulevard)?

DYK looks messy for obvious reasons :skull:
