For those of you who heard the album, how do y'all think it's going to be received critically? I would love a 90 on Metacritic, but is too divisive to get that?

People do the MOST with the Grants' intro. Go stan someone else. She clearly means something when she puts the intro like that. She explained in the interview it makes total sense.

I mean... I support her artistry like yas go queen show ur your art but that doesn't mean I have to like it :rip:

The Grants is a cute song but the intro kills it for me, it goes on for too long and it doesn't add anything to the song (at least to me)

I agree, I might have to find a good edit and replace it. I want to like the song but I also can't get over the intro. It certainly was a choice.

We're all going to regret TNBAR once we hear the Pastor interlude, I fear.

Realistically, how are we supposed to know? :skull:

I've seen a few girls here who have Kintsugi dead last (excluding the interludes). What the f*ck is up with the taste?

for whatever reason, poor taste jumped OUT of a lot of people due to this album :deadbanana2:

It also has violins. The other instruments are difficult to notice due to the low quality of the leaked recording.

That’s what I was wanting, too, but honestly… I’ll say yes. I think it might be a little TOO uncompromising and divisive to get 90+.

I can see the Judah interlude bringing it down, and the stretch from Judah through Fingertips is going to be hard for a lot of casual listeners to swallow. And then there are some lyrics critics might hold against her, too.

Even the bops at the end of the album don’t sound like singles. And we already have fans bitching about a 50 second acapella intro to Track 1.

None of this is a bad thing for me - I love how raw and wild and free Lana went on this album. But it definitely feels like an album made for the hardcore fans. It’s a deep dive into her psyche, and it’ll be a lot for some people.

I’m hoping for 80+ at this point. I think that’s achievable at least. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a few really low scores just to ~put her in her place~, though. We’ll see.
