this will be under NFR reception wise not because of her but because of how wildly different the albums are and the intentions behind them. NFR! was external, very accessible and it was a cheeky and lighthearted conversation around the culture and relationships. this album is internal, dark, weird at a lot of moments, it's incredibly personal and meditative... it's not going to be loved by the masses same way NFR was because it's pushing against that kinda narrative. NFR also had the Jack narrative.

 

the 2020-21 stuff with her being messy does not matter

I finally copped a UV deluxe on vinyl just now, so pleased. Refusing to play my exclusives for the last nine years has been hard. The store’s here abusing their listening party though. “Can only attend if you preorder via us” is not a condition of a free listening event. I called another store just now, explained that work is permitting me from attending the actual event and she’s put my name down to collect a package after the event that she’ll put by because it’s a free event
