Need the PP version of Fly To You ASAP

Listening to this cause of the great reviews... and I don't get it? The lyrics all seem to say nothing, and some of them (notably the first 2 tracks) are just noise.. I like elements of each song so far but it seems like 50 things thrown together where about half of it works.

And Sunset sounds like the White Lotus theme song :rip:

Okay I Believe might be a bop :jonny:

I'll probably never forget that night, got to see Björk, Jessie Ware, Charli XCX and Caroline at the same festival, fresh out of a surgery, I struggled like crazy but it was a dream :jonny3:

Her previous album "Pang" has more pop appeal and sounds stronger in melody on first listen... You may like that one!:bird:

This album is more sonically experimental. I still need time to get into the whole album:beatfreak:

Smoke is that song for me so far:heart:

Really liked it. A very nice album.

Today it came to me that this album is what Lorde wanted to serve with Solar power, but failed :gaycat7: Not only the sound  but also the sunny, beachy visuals

This one was frustrating for me cause I can tell there’s talent there, but I feel like too much is going on.

Maybe I should try her older stuff.

I didn't get it in the first listen :biblionny: I don't get the mind-blowing, futuristic, experimental stuff that critics claimed. I feel I have listened these sounds before (and much better, lol) in other albums. Some singles are cute bops. I'll give it a second listen later, tho :bloo:

Edit: Although I've enjoyed it a bit more after the first listen, I can't stop feeling this album is kind of forced in melodies and lyrics in some tracks.  It's like Polachek seeks inspiration in other artists, which I utterly support, but in the most shallow and simple way :skull: Welcome To My Island, I Believe and Hopedrunk Everasking are outstanding. Score: 7,25.

I just listened to this :weeps: I'm so glad Smoke and Sunset are included on this album, sunset was an instant hit to me when I saw her a few years back.

Fly to you is such a good song too. Grimes and Dido really did that

Do it. As I said, there's literally a song that is reminescent of Power of Goodbye

blood and butter? idk some others also have these trip-hop-y bubbles orbit did for madonna and dido used heavily during no angel/life for rent but b&b gave me that melancholy bop-ish ballad vibe :katie2: it's actually my favorite song with sunset.

Yup! The guitar is very Power of Goodbye-esque

I've been thinking that this is what Lorde's next album should be like...If she can't be angsty and emo because she's ~enlightened, this is the perfect sound
