This feels entirely different to Pang for me. It's a whole different world. I think I like Desire more. It's more focused, earthy, and feels less self-conscious.

the singles are definitely the most "impactful" songs (is that the word BZ used?) i agree but this is definitely great as a whole nonetheless. i think pang has higher highs and lower lows (parachute ) but is the better album overall

I Believe and Crude Drawing are my first listen favourites. Kinda disappointed with Smoke, i wish it sounded more punchy and loud

just listened to Fly To You alone and I liked it… obviously I expected better but well… I missed Dido voice so much. Hope she releases a new album soon

Good album but nothing is hitting as much as Billions. Pang outsold (Parachute alone>), but this might be a grower.

are my new-song-faves but obviously she released the stronger ones first (Billions & Welcome To My Island remain the best i think???)

in general i was expecting a more 80s sound but instead we got pure pagan summer temple of doom tomb raider spirit  released out of the ancient cave and we just got possessed vibes.

This is everything I expected and more. It's an eclectic masterpiece and the folkier moments are extremely welcome. This is basically an Imogen/Frou Frou album with more electronic touches and her signature vocals. Mother delivered

The fact Caroline took the shitstorm 2020 was AFTER just 5 months of being able to tour, AFTER so much personal hardship, and was able to create this record, master it, and now is able to sing all these songs live (I have no idea how she doesn't break down in Butterfly Net, I Believe, Crude Drawing or Hopedrunk) is just beyond. Also every song being so different from each other helps to tear down those silly attempts of ranking and comparing.

This album feels like a house made of different rooms that simply look from completely different places on earth and time periods, but somehow they perfectly puzzle fit. It's beyond. I feel this is closer to Arcadia than Pang is so that's also an instant crush for me...

Pretty and Possible using the Smoke bridge melody for the humming, Blood & Butter using Grimes’ verse melody for the bagpipe bit, I Believe having the BiaR whistle towards the end, Butterfly Net using the Crude Drawing melody in second verse... and Fly To You lyrics kind of replying to Ocean of Tears "Oh I Fly to you, after all the tears you're all I need". Live, she inserts BiaR whistle as a guitar riff in WTMI, Hey Big Eyes chant into Blood & Butter, Look at me Now where Dido's verse should sound in Fly To You...

The full album sounds like taking a subway train and connecting to other lines that look different but are all part of the same system... Just how the album cover looks. Time running out, trying to make it through the day, through life.
Everything is fascinating and perfect. I can't wait to see the rest of the visuals... I really hope she creates animated lyric booklets like she did for Pang, and the Vinyl poster/booklet is of course going to be insane.

Anyways, the fact this woman has stayed in the game for over 15 years, being part of so many different projects, collaborating with so many extremely disparate artists, and continues to surprise everyone... She really is the dream artist.

I honestly can't pick favorites, maybe Pretty in Possible right now, but the full album is just incomparable.
