Of her 8 albums only 2 went #1. Most of them weren't even close. MOTS - #10 AGLM - #5 GGGB - #2 (needed a re-release to get to this position) Rated R - #4 LOUD - #3 TTT - #3 Unapologetic - #1, 1 week Anti - #1, 2 weeks Why? What happened? Why couldn't rihanna with her 14 #1s go top 3 when random nameless acts were easily debuting at #1 every other week? What stopped her? Thots? Surprised? It's like people never cared about Rihanna releasing an album. Anti is the only outlier it seems. But that is fine because she is still the second biggest female act of the 21st century and probably still would be number one if she did not retire. Artists like Beyonce, Madonna and Taylor who didn't own majority of their albums until recent years all made more money from music than Rihanna did. It's pop music, not the italian opera) and a fun personality. It's the kind of recognizable voice the GP liked so a lot of her songs worked because of HER, not only because the sound was trendish. Saying that i think her success in her peak was a little bit overrated because of 1 album for year and a label who give her the best in term of production, promotional spots, duets with every successfull artist out there (and also radio deals on radio deals. A lot of her #1 are because of that and yes remixes!). All her albums until 2015 were only compilation of hits, any attempt to create a real catalog. So no on she's not at Taylor, Adele, Beyoncè, Gaga's level on that term. Some of her hits are really good and still on people memory so she deserves the Super bowl.
