Aethereal Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 Which ones do you prefer? For me: 2D Disney > Dreamworks 3D Dreamworks > Disney > Pixar.

ATRL Moderator Bloo Posted November 25, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted November 25, 2022 Pixar at its peak is untouchable. Ratatouille, the Toy Story films, Finding Nemo, Up, Walle, Monsters Inc. are all god tier. They went downhill starting with Brave. But Dreamworks and Disney were always very hit and miss with their 3D output and nothing they put out quite touches the best of Pixar's offerings IMO.

Pretty much. 00s Pixar >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> God this site has the most basic taste.
Dark Miracles Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 Besides the 2D Disney films, I would vote for the studio behind the groundbreaking animated trilogy Kung Fu Panda

Shrek, Kung-fu Panda and How To Train Your Dragon >>> Brave is literally one of the best Pixar movies. Cars was a disaster. I used to love Monster Incl when I was a kid but it does not appeal to me anymore. Up was the best from the movies you listed.

AdamL44 Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 2000s Pixar is easily the most consistently brilliant. Dreamworks peaked w/ The Prince of Egypt, which eclipses most of WDAS canon lol. WDAS is really hard to assess comprehensively because of its size but their post-CGI output is honestly really medicore...even Moana sorry to say... but if you break it down to eras... the renaissance, golden era (Snow White -- Bambi) and silver era (Cinderella -- Sleeping Beauty) are all SPECIAL (Bambi and Sleeping Beauty are as close to masterpieces as they got tbh).

GraceRandolph Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 2D Disney is the best, followed by Dreamworks, then Pixar and then 3D Disney. I haven't seen enough Laika and Ghibli movies to judge, but Spirited Away is a masterpiece.
terrorblade Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 2Disney > peak Pixar > Dreamworks > nu-Pixar > 3Disney
