Mitsouko Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 She hasn’t been allowed to release a studio album in nearly a decade, no surprise they shelved this. 1

I actually really really really enjoyed A.K.A She worked on two previous albums, one untitled during 2015-2016 when Ain't Your Mama was recorded and during 2017-2018 called Por Primera Vez and was gonna end up being her second studio album. Despite A.K.A. being on the Top 10 of Billboard 200, its sales were horrible + no longevity. I feel they were afraid to pull off a project and experience low sales etc. That's why they thought it was a good way to snatch Maluma and drop a movie with an OST to test the waters and revive her music career. The soundtrack was good and has good streaming numbers (for her standards), but low sales and flopped. Now she said that this project is personal and feels like she doesn't care that much about the success aspect as long as she puts out the music she created with the team. The problematic thing on this paragraph I wrote is that the girl was always looking a way to be successful rather than just work on her craft and let her fans enjoy projects. I get that she has to bring back some cash to her record company, but I guess that's what tours are for. 1

She’s always been more a single sales kind of girl than an album girl and they sabotages aka with the messy booty release. Booty could have been a hit.
Virtual_Insanity Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Looking forward to this, JLO's voice has been sounding incredible lately.
Starchild Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Has there been any news? She announced this since November dear lord where the f is the album?

She said Summer then changed it to not sure when to release it and then Summer again. People were speculating that the album was coming on 21st July 'cause she was featured in the Spotify Countdown trailer and it had a picture of TIMT with that date.

It annoyed me that she had such a smash with Ain’t Your Mama (on YouTube at least) and didn’t follow it with an album. 1

It was a huge international hit! Even in US it made 500.000 while being only at Top 90 on Hot 100. 2015-2016 was a frustrating mishandled era. The Try Me music video not being out to help the song be a smash, her shelved album and AYM being just a random single. lol 1

I don’t want to be rude or anything but Mariah is only serving Christmas and nothing else and yet tripling JLo's daily streams in June and just sold out four arena shows which JLo hasn't done in nearly four years. and Miss JLo goes mega-viral weekly for being scalped on social media, hasn't charted a song in nearly a decade, couldn't land an album in the top 100, and has one of the most panned filmographies ever. I know you're a troll/dupe, but at least try to be somewhat accurate. 3
