Why is she announcing the album and making an entire interview about it without a pre-order or a lead single :skull:

Not one of her twins dragging her newer music while listening to This Is Art... Then and saying her older music is much better :ahh:

Glad to see her being inspired, I am so hyped! Then and Now Tour can be a cute 50 dates max. show or she can do 10-15 theater residency for 2 months in each new city like London, Berlin, New York, Melbourne, Medellin if she wants to

Ive always liked how this is me… then was titled already knowing she would release an album titled this is me… now in the future. And yes, I know she did it to look back on it in sort of retrospection

If only the album was released this month. There weren't any major releases this past week...

the way STILL, Loving you can be updated slightly (although I don't want them to change anything about it) and it would serve as a full circle moment.

add a few new tracks, release a new track as a single and Still and Lovin you and Dear Ben. MAGIC. Perfection personified.

I've been thinkin is STILL hitting. OMFG.

so 2002 was such a big year for me because i entered college. There were a few big releases fall 2002: Eminem's 8 mile soundtrack, Justin's dedication to Britney, Xtina's stripped album and JLO's This is me...then.

Certainly, I bypassed all of that and supported This is me...then.

This is her most artistic and best era. I'm not keen on all single choices but whew. I really hope she pulls a taylor and keeps the essence of This is me...then and adds a few more tracks and releases this properly.

It would be such an amazing way to come full circle from her greatest era. Love will bring the best out of you.

not. going. anywhere. (track 6) is on the inside of her wedding ring and is in reference to how Ben would sign off on his emails when they started talking again :chick1:

i think it was Emme the one that said, Emme seems more "musical" than Max who approved and gave us "Booty" :ahh:

But Max wasn't lying when he said that was the smash, was easily the best single choice from that album that would have peaked higher if they didn't botch the timing of the Iggy remix release :deadbanana4:

yeah, regarding the choice of a single he was right, it was the only fresh song that could do something, hence why it peaked that high. But if we talk about quality content... i never heard that song again :skull:

Why do all of this (album announcement, Zane Lowe interview, Behind The Music on MTV) without pre-orders, pre-save or release date announcements? Is she without a label and made this independently and trying to shop the album around to a label or for distribution partners by first created hype? I’m so confused to what the strategy is (if there’s any?).

Literally. I don’t get why there’s no preorder at least. Flawlessly announced but she’s currently promoting something nobody can buy.

It’s a big ask in this day and age to tell people about something and expect them to still remember/care in a few months.

I feel like the single must be coming this week... and probably the album in January or February? Jan is always a dead month for releases.

Kind of dumb of them not to announce that in any of the videos or announcements?

I was hoping a single announcement for this week while she continues to build anticipation.

I doubt this is the end of it so maybe they’re leading us to something?
The way she’s mentioning songs and the meaning behind them but not talking about them directly is interesting

She said a few titles in the interview as if she was pulling a T. Swift. So maybe she’s building anticipation and releasing early Jan? Maybe a New Years performance with the new single?

So far, I’m not too mad about it but would love a preorder set up. Maybe that’ll come Friday with the single. I feel like this was all thought out so surely they didn’t miss that big of a thing but then again they always do.

I'm excited for a new Jennifer album but "This Is Me...Then" is my least favourite album from her. I use "Jenny From The Block", "I'm Glad" and "All I Have" and that's about it. "Still" is cute but some of the vocals on that song (verses) and the album in general sound atrocious and out of tune.

The "I think I'm in love, damn, finally" part of I'm Glad is a slay though!

i also went to check for 'when is the album out' when I saw interview at zane lowe. maybe it is next week? surprise release?

Oh what if the album is coming out in January to be out along with Shotgun Wedding? I mean it’s getting released on Prime but still is cross promotion and would bring more people to hear her album/single, and she can promote both things at the same time?

That could be a very Jennifer thing to do. She did the same with the J.Lo album and Wedding Planner movie.

I’ve also been thinking about the New Years thing. She may repeat the release strategy for Get Right which the video dropped at midnight NYE but why would she then start promo so soon?

And yes they always miss something pivotal during release. I remember them even uploading wrong versions of songs on iTunes years ago!

Presumably this album will be more r&b leaning? Just based on the producers/writers.
Jeff Gitty (Muni Long, HER, Summer Walker)
Angel Lopez (Jack Harlow)
Rogét Chahayed (John Legend, Giveon, Mary J Blige)

It always one step forward two steps back with her and her management with these things :rip:

Must be her most honest interview in a while. So glad she worked with a small group of people for the entire album. I feel she's on the right track, and finally got to understand how wrong was for her to do these quick lil singles over the time. I wish she had put the album for pre-order 'cause the hype would have got people to buy it.
