No wonder the girls were trying to SNATCH her masters to get some of that royalty bank. Thankfully she outsmarted them and is making her old masters useless with the re recordings. Queen tingz tbh

It truly was a blessing in disguise bc had she had her masters right from the getgo shed probably never have gone the route she did with Lover - folkmore - Fearless + RED TV which all culminated in her repeaking with Midnights.

 

She probably wouldve gone on tour right in 2021/2022 for the Lover Fest and continued issuing singles throughout 2020.

 

Not to be a debbie downer but I doubt folklore wouldve ever happened for her the way it did in this timeline.

Exactly. It's kind of insane the way she has managed to make all the sabotage thrown her way into a win. She's one of the smartest popgirls we have around (not to mention her talent is undeniable). But strictly in terms of strategic thinking...she's on another level. She could probably easily run a record label herself one day. Maybe when she becomes much older and maybe wants to expand her empire. She's insanely business smart.

She also knows how to tread authenticity and corporatism very well. She's highly aware of her demographic, she knows how to slowly transition to expanding her market, when to fully commit, how to keep them engaged as she grows older and still keeping her authentic singer songwriter branding.

Midnights is smashing so unbelievably hard because of folklore & Red (TV).
 

Without them, this album would’ve just performed the same as Lover (or slightly worse, if anything)
