Wasted on You is still charting on the Hot 100. I think once WoY's run on the Hot 100 is done, we will get a better sense of whether the album will sell 40k forever, or will fade away (like Planet Her did after GIIY fell off). The same reason why The Highlights is up there. [Abel is a genius for adding Die For You on there. Otherwise, it might be Starboy charting this high, lol.]

 

But why is Thriller up there this many weeks after Halloween?

I get why MJ is that high due to the 40th anniversary of Thriller.

Did ELton john do something special or release vinyls? How did he get this high again???

'Midnights' could be doing quite a bit more if only Republic was restocking CDs and vinyl much faster.

Especially vinyl are basically sold out everywhere

He had his last ever shows in the US this past weekend and his final concert was live-streamed on Disney+ for all. So that's probably why.
