I actually...disagree with that based on a lot of the reporting and documentaries I've seen and read about their friendship post-diagnosis.

Also his "caring" about HIV - I'd avoid that framing as well, personally. But that's a different subject.

But didn't they approve funding for HIV research for the first time only after Rock's death? The documentary that I saw said so and also that they made snarky remarks about gays and how those "f-words" deserved the decease. But that's what I meant with "caring", the funding of research.

This is real progress, but don't get it twisted.

Quote

Even as the test vote reflected bipartisan support for the measure, the vast majority of Republicans, including Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the minority leader, voted against it. Thirty-seven Senate Republicans voted no, illustrating that, while polling has found that more than 70 percent of Americans — including a majority of Republicans — support same-sex marriage, the issue remains politically untouchable for many G.O.P. lawmakers.

Mr. McConnell’s vote in opposition to the measure was all the more notable, coming after he chastised his party in the wake of a disappointing election cycle for behavior that he said had alienated independent and moderate voters.

This is great, but it doesn’t codify same sex marriage. The Supreme Court could still overturn it if they dare.

Republicans having common sense with moral issues, they just became the perfect party. Or at least the best, without the crazyness of the extreme left who wants us to go back to the caves because the climate and the defund the police/open borders movement. Oh and also the whole teaching about masturbation and sex transition to your 5 yo kid :rip:

Clearly you didn’t read the OP’s post because a small minority of Republicans voted yes on this.  You mention the Stone Age and that’s really only applicable to the GOP at this point considering how they’re mentally stuck living in the 1800’s considering how this also involves interracial marriage. :rip:

Don't equate the entire left with those radicals who advocate for gender neutral parenting (when they force kids to be non-binary), talking to you you and @ToxDust. That's not the entire left, not at all. And we can find common sense solution to climate and environment without going back to the stone age, but that's another topic too, and again, not all leftists thinks so.

tbh the environment part is not extreme, but so many leftist ideas are. i have a couple of friends like that, they don't care about anything in life beyond sexuality/gender/race

There is no such thing as an extreme left but yall are proving the existence of the far-right but talking about trans people while the destabilization of society and coups are held. :skull:

One can assume you have no actual idea what you wanna mean by "left" nor could you articulate for any of us examples of what you consider "extreme left" given that you say this:

i'd say ATRL is extreme left (in terms of rules)

Must have missed ATRL being far left amongst all the racism and transphobia.

Let's play a game and mention Roma or Muslim or Jewish people and see just how left-wing ATRL supposedly is. :skull:

This would repeal the DOMA, Defense of Marriage Act, from 1996 :loki:

That was killed years ago. It’s the reason gays can marry now.
