But didn't they approve funding for HIV research for the first time only after Rock's death? The documentary that I saw said so and also that they made snarky remarks about gays and how those "f-words" deserved the decease. But that's what I meant with "caring", the funding of research.

Clearly you didn’t read the OP’s post because a small minority of Republicans voted yes on this.  You mention the Stone Age and that’s really only applicable to the GOP at this point considering how they’re mentally stuck living in the 1800’s considering how this also involves interracial marriage.
