The way this era could have been MASSIVE for her but poor choices destroyed it. 
 

1. Picking wrong second single 

2.  Completely ignoring the best song on the album.

3. Doing X amount of side projects paying dust to the album

 4. barely promoting

 5. jumping ship 3 months in the  era

Correct. Demis relapse and overdose cut the era so short even tho this album is incredible and very special. Games and Daddy Issues couldve been huge, even Lonely and Cry Baby! So many wasted single opportunities. 
 

Sorry Not Sorry was just the beginning of what couldve been.

The era died the moment she didn't get any Grammy nomination for it. 

 

The album was rushed released to be on time for the Grammy deadline and then when it didn't get any nom, she changed from the "living album" concept she had in mind to "wouldn't you prefer a new album instead?" after only 2 singles.

Daddy Issues should've been the second single concurrently with Echame La Culpa, the former would've smashed at radio while the latter smashed at streaming. Still a really good era for her!

Its bc Demi had dropped management and wanted to record music about the relapse, it didnt have to do anything about the grammys. Demi’s life was falling apart and Demi wanted a completely new album to represent it. 

 

 

 

Im glad we didnt get a living album bc the rejects are not as strong as what made the album. I just wish we got 2 more singles, especially Games and Daddy Issues

The potential this era had, to think if she  lumped no promises/ELC/solo on the album it would be up there with the most streamed female albums.. what a wasted opportunity, her label could have pulled a Dua and then re-released the album with a few of the many unreleased tracks we got later on and made it like a 24 track album

Ironically it’s the same that’s included hitchiker which has more streams despite not being performed every night on tour

Isn't it supposed to be her peak era? It's honestly not that impressive imo, especially compared to some of her contemporaries.

It's her peak era? It's her only album to be 2x Platinum (although Confident and DEMI are eligible). Demi's standards have always been lower than her contemporaries, I don't get what's surprising
