MoonGoodandHappy Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 (edited) You have to choose between living in Paris or Los Angeles for the rest of your life, which city would you choose ? Paris ? Los Angeles ? Paris is so much better, i would choose Paris without any hesitation Edited November 5, 2022 by MoonGoodandHappy
Cloudy Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Probably Paris. LA seems nice to visit, but I don't know about living tbh. I would feel overwhelmed ngl
Oxy Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Where I’m living is similar to LA so a change in scenery like Paris is better.
Brando Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I think Paris is a no brainer here. New York or San Fran would have been a better match up
Trent W Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 LA is ugly, so probably Paris. But not too excited about Paris, never been there as a non-tourist, I’m basically just choosing it because LA sucks to live there.
EtherealCat Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 im not living in los angeles its hideous, has boring weather and i might die in an earthquake
LeMésTragique Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 LA has no redeeming qualities, so Paris.
DUA LIPA Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 (edited) Paris i hate driving so i'd never stay in LA for longer than a month week Edited November 5, 2022 by DUA LIPA
DoubleRainbow! Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I've heard awful things about Paris and their people, so probably L.A.
coolblue Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Paris because climate their is cold all year round? Besides lean hot french men everywhere
nadiamendell Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 (edited) Paris is an actual city. LA is a bunch of suburbs slammed together with no thought or planning put into it and public transportation SUCKS. You have to drive everywhere. Traffic and pollution is awful. Easily one of my least favorite cities. The only thing it has going for it is the beaches. This is a better representation of LA than the photos in the OP: Edited November 5, 2022 by nadiamendell
LadyDiana Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Is LA even worth visiting? I'm asking as european so take into account the time to get there. Like what is there to see??? I would say Paris, but tbh I only need 3 hours to get there with TGV or EC, so I don't really have to live there. It's very bussy and touristy
Pop culture Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 LA has nice weather, but you have to sit in traffic for 2 hours to go anywhere, and the NIMBYs keep on opposing the Metro expansions
Proseductice Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Both are completely overrated. LA is overcrowded, dirty, and fake. France in general scares me as a black person.
Jaguarqueef Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Paris, simply because Los Angelos is on a fault line in a drought prone area where water access is being poorly rationed. now NYC vs Paris?? I’m taking NYC every time.

Like what is there to see??? You have the beaches, the mountains and Hollywood, but expect to sit in traffic getting to any of those places. Hollywood is dirty and Hollywood Boulevard (where you'll find the Hollywood Walk of Fame) is full of addicts and people with mental health issues because the city/America has no solution so it's awful. Last time I was there there was a homeless man with his pants down around his knees with his d*ck out shouting some nonsense. I was really disappointed in the whole experience.

Swirl900 Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I'm assuming you mean metro area? Los Angeles given my current circumstances. Westwood or Malibu would be cute. Parisians are some of the rudest people especially toward non native French speakers and it would be harder to find a job. Maybe my answer would be different if I were French. Ofc as the posters above me mentioned NYC>>>>>>>>
Troll Idle Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Paris. The people there are sexually very open
katykater Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 No hot weather, earthquake, drought, water shortage, high rent that makes earning 150k dollar per year feel poor,... Paris has more liveable weather, mass transit that makes living in the suburbs without having to drive possible. The biggest infrastructure project in Europe. Adding 200km of metro lines and there will be a train every 2 or 3 minutes. I have driven in Parisian traffic and they don't care about knocking a mirror of a car, pushing the other cars to make room at a parking spot,... The state is shielding the people from the big risks in life like how hospital bills could bankrupt American households. I would have to work on my French. I wasn't good at that in school.
flower moon Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 LA is one of the worst cities in the world
Robert Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Wouldn’t choose either in all honestly but LA if I had to.
Jotham Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Los Angeles definitely. I lived there during college and it's my dream to move back there someday since it's such a beautiful city with lots of things to do. People who sas it's "fake" or "overrated" just don't know the right places to go to. I've never been to Paris but I want to, but it would be very difficult for me to live there since I don't speak French.
