Toho Studios has announced a new live-action Godzilla film titled Godzilla Minus One to be released this year. It will be directed by Takashi Yamazaki. The film will be released on November 3rd (69-year anniversary of the original film) in Japan, and December 1st in the United States.

This comes months before Legendary's Godzilla & King Kong sequel in April 2024. It will be Toho's 33rd Godzilla film.

The film will take place in post-war Japan, between 1945 and 1947.

"Set in a post-war Japan, Godzilla Minus One will once again show us a Godzilla that is a terrifying and overwhelming force."

The film has been met with critical acclaim by critics and audiences alike. It has become the biggest earning live-action Japanese film in US history.

Tickets on sale now! IMAX for early showing November 29th. Unfortunately, Beyoncé’s Renaissance film took G-1’s IMAX away after that.

This was very bad. The acting was atrocious. How is this getting such good reviews? The Godzilla scenes were nice, but the other ones with the family and crew were not good. Again, awful acting. Why is everyone screaming and making stupid faces? I think I like this acting in anime more.
