In 2015 hun. What year are we now? and How does the 25 girlie doing with her current release? :)

“30” has sold ~7M units WW since it’s release, WW, on the basis of one massive hit single and another that was barely promoted.

Almost a year later, she’s now dropped the albums third single and video.

An absolutely haphazard promotional schedule but I’d say she’s doing just fine.

She might be doing just fine. That's all. So it's a tad funny to come for Midnights with how that album performed :) Didn't it drop off the UK charts after barely a year?

OT: A slayage :clap3:

It did…

But now it’s back on the U.K charts.

Also, “30” has spent more time on the U.K charts than most female albums released in the last five years.

Also, one hit single isn’t enough to, clearly, uphold the album and it’s not exactly streaming-friendly and everyone knows that.

Not people coming for her ALBUM LONGEVITY OF ALL THINGS :ahh: the delusion is too much

Are we talking about the same girl who has her album spending 11, 8, 7, 6, 4 weeks at #1? Who has all her albums charting WELL over 100, 200 weeks on the B200? Who has the longest charting album of the 2000s with her debut? Who has 1989 (an 8 years old album) charting in TOP FIFTY this week even if it has already charted for OVER 400 weeks? With Lover (2019), folklore & Red TV (a Re-record of a 10 years old album) all in top 30?

Taylor should drop 1989 (TV) next, while she is at her peak. The fact that 1989 is in the Top 50 shows that there is a demand for 1989 (TV). Blank Space (TV) is going to be the #1 for sure when 1989 (TV) is released.

We'll see for how long I guess :) And that's not true since EOM did extremely well on streaming , and the chill sound of the album can be successful on streaming potential wise - but the GP isn't that intrested so it's just not. Btw we're here discussing a Taylor Swift album, so if that doesn't interest you , you can discuss that rerecord of an album freely on Adele's base thread. I was just making a point to a user comparing it to ha 25 album.

OT: can't wait for ha upcoming year/s of slayage w this one :clap3:

“EOM” dominated streaming as it was Adele’s comeback single, that she had notified the GP of ten days before release, thus it became a smash hit.

Other songs on the album, with running times of 5 minutes and above, aren’t going to be streaming wonders. Lest forget that she abandoned the era post-“EOM” excluding the video for “OMG”.

You responded to user about Adele and I responded back to you. That’s how this works.

:)

OT: Congrats Ms. Swift. :clap3:

30 was deemed as Adele's comeback album, and it was supposed to do good on streaming just as her previous albums did. It failed :) hence why the 5 min/ chill music arguement falls flat - especially since she has a couple of very radio friendly songs on the album.

I'm not here for discussing Adele since I don't care about her that much, hence why I don't spread negativity on her threads like some other ATRL users do for other singers. Feel free to quote me or whatever, I won't answer since this becomes boring :heart2: glad to see you're perched for Swift though!

OT: so refreshing to see a real, talented, versatile, hard working female artist slaying and even competing with the stats of the men in the industry :clap3: luv it!

Luv :deadbanana2: she has TWO radio friendly songs on the album and the two of them have good streaming so if anything what you’re saying just proves the point you’re trying to debunk.

Not the Taytay haters coming into a Midnights thread to talk about Adele :deadbanana4: Both girls are slaying :clap3:

OT: The drop looks ok and if she keeps doing 150-200k sps for the next few weeks, it's going to blow past a lot of albums

Physicals must have been sold out, but this is great because once she restocks it will stay longer at #1.

Could she have beaten Drake with these numbers? Probably not, but it's good to see that Drake got scared.

The pure sales drop is unusually big for Taylor, I agree they probably didn’t stock enough vinyls/physicals.

Great numbers overall.

Or maybe they are going to re-stock on Friday to make a run at beating Drake.

I don't think this will happen.
They share Republic records

I think they'll restock November 11th or November 18th. Drake's numbers are going to be huge first week, and definitely more than what Midnights will be doing in its 3rd week

People dragging her second week as if it wasn't stronger than 95% of the 1st weeks we had this year  :deadbanana2:

I mean, if Midnights keeps dropping like this, it's not gonna sell more than 30 in pure sales in total. 30's sold 1.7M to date pure. In streaming Taylor's phenomenal ofc, I'm not doubting that.

This is a Taylor Swift album; her long term pure sales will be just fine.

It's now at #1, #2, #3 and #4 on iTunes. Getting those 7 extra sales :clap3:

Easy On Me

Oh My God

Can I Get It

I Drink Wine

these are the 4 most hit-worthy tracks on the album that could easily dominate radio. Which is more than enough for an era

I’d add Hold On as well. In fact, I think Hold On should have been the 3rd single. It fits the fall/Christmas season so much better than I Drink Wine.

I know but the GP not buying albums anymore has got to affect her too in the long run.

Stop bringing Adele into every Taylor-related thread :deadvision: the woman has an entire base thread where you can go talk about her past success and future releases, we are celebrating TAYLOR and TAYLOR only in here
