I agree but tbh I can’t defend her getting dragged at this point.  Will just listen and enjoy it on my own I guess, hopefully the movie breathes some life into it because…

Taylor stans should be the very last ones talking about organic #1s considering so many of her #1s are basically forgotten songs that were there for 1 week.

Wouldn't you say that someone releasing double digit versions of their single that is performing poorly on streaming in order to go #1 over the objectively most consumed song of the week is what is actually "sabotaging someone else's placement"?

A top 3 start and charting well globally isn’t exactly the drag you think it is. The song is doing fine. Obviously people expected more but people should learn to expect nothing from Rihanna — and this is a lesson we should’ve learned in 2013 when did not release an album that fall.  You have to applaud her for taking a bit of a risk here. And if you don’t, then, well, don’t, but it was bold at the end of the day!

Sure… but Taylor has done that like 5 times.  It’s cheap/desperate but it’s to be expected for a huge return to music, not really seeing how any of this comes as a shock, all things considered.

Taylor was #1 in streaming every time and stunted by lack of radio compared to the songs she was competing against, so in fact, no, she has not done this ~5 times~
