Nope it smashed went Top 5/10 on R&B/Urban and Gold on it's own

She had so many singles smashing during that era. The official singles were Diamonds, Stay, Pour It Up and Right Now and What Now

That era was insane :lmao:

It’s #1 on iTunes, U.S YT and Pandora as well as Shazam.

Radio listeners are still, clearly, interested in the song but perhaps it doesn’t have a strong audience with Spotify users/listeners.

Also, radio doesn’t work in conjunction with Spotify and AM so I don’t know why we’re comparing the former to the latter.

Because there's another song (already) slowing down on airplay and that causes frustration!

iTunes is a dead platform and while radio and streaming are separate things, its very precipitous drop on streaming platforms indicates it doesn’t have replayability or staying power with listeners generally.

Feels like the institutions in the music industry (radio, playlist curators) are super excited for anything new from Rihanna while actual listeners skip or stop streaming the song after a listen :skull: a very top-to-bottom kind of song and that doesn’t tend to work

Radio affects way more a dead platform like iTunes or even Shazam rather than streaming platforms, which are heavily influenced basically by playlists and TikTok.

the song came out literally 5 days ago, I know tons of you are dying to see this dropping on playlists and radio but you need to wait a little more.

that being said, the updates keep being tragic. no more Halloween excuses, people just don't like it.

the world will still go on.

Even with the radio push the song still fell from #1 on iTunes behind Anti-Hero :skull:

the GP listen to it on radio instead and forget to stream

This has to be the biggest, most recent case of payola I've seen. Even after Halloween, the song is only at #26 in the US. It might become a Break My Soul kinda success if they keep the payola, but this song is nowhere near as good as BMS

The only way this is going #1 is if the movie premiere effect is really big on streaming and they keep the radio "push" for another 2 weeks.

She just release the digital single and instrumental version on her website:deadbanana4:Damn… what is her team thinking, this won’t get #1 unless it sells like 50000 copies

The instrumental of the song is gorgeous. Thanks to that the song grew on me a lot

They are wasting that releasing it this week. Anti-hero is a lock for #1

Those website sales will only help her to secure the #2 over Sam Smith but that's it

Unless they know something that we don't

So this is the reason its drop on iTunes. Fans are buying from her website instead.

“Lift Me Up” will join:

1) Erotica - Madonna #2

2) I‘ll Be There - Mariah Carey #4

2) That’s The Way Love Goes - Janet Jackson #4

2) Easy On Me - Adele #4

3) Born This Way - Lady Gaga #6

4) Fantasy - Mariah Carey #8

5) All For You - Janet Jackson #9

”LMU” will be between #10 - 8, I think.

Could be why they’ve dropped it now.

40 hours left in the tracking week.

If by chance this song hits #1...it would be better for it to happen when the movie comes out so it'll be promoted as a the #1 movie and the #1 song
