Crazy Lights Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 So happy she’s back!! It’s obviously going to be a ballad since it’ll probably be honoring Chadwick. She’ll surely have a different vibe for the album lead single, if there is an album out there.
wish Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 I will be streaming & purchasing but damn she should have come back with a bop.
zzmyth Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 All of you trying to ruin the navy's moment.... You really better get your lives together. You havent even heard the song and already complaining about how a ballad it's gonna be... How it's another songwriting-camp song... How Sia it's gonna sound... (no Sia or writing-camps... As she is one of the only 4 writers...) I mean. We get it. It's Rih. You don't like her and you are threatened. Go enjoy your fave and let us NAVY have our moment. We've been almost 7 years waiting. We deserve it.

polar Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 i see a certain fanbase is already pressed by a simple "hummm"
americanlife Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 inb4 it's a cover of the Xtina song. OT: I wonder who wrote this. Does Rihanna have a credit, or is it written by Sia and 12 other people.

Ayanaa Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 cant wait. Rih will always be special, the artist of my childhood, hit after hit
FreeXone Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 It sounds like a ballad but I’m here for anything at this point

crymelanie Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 soooo who wrote the song sia, priscilla or tems ?
SinterFold_ Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Coming from myself being one of Rihanna biggest fans we can't be too upset about the skepticism. It's a ballad for a soundtrack after a 7 year solo hiatus. It's a huge risk. Luckily she has so many hits that if this falls to wayside you can't really drag someone with the catalog that she has. Truthfully speaking pouring the amount of hype that she has amassed for new music into a soundtrack with two singles is definitely a risk and I'm curious to see how this all pans out. It's truly gonna be hit or miss and no in-between. Whereas an uptempo reggae lead/club banger would 99.9% smash. But none of us can see into the future so lets just remain optimistic. Regardless of performance I'm sure the ballad would be amazing. The opportunity is certainly amazing I just wish she had released her solo material and then this. That would've been a better case scenario.
Miss Show Business Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Hopefully there'll be just as much hype for her lead as there is for this...
SinterFold_ Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Just look how huge The Lion King was. With the biggest name in music Beyonce who released a phenomenal body of work to coincide with it and it went absolutely nowhere. Also led by a ballad. To try and pretend this isn't a risk is farfetched. The best thing say and the best way to go about it is just hoping for the best and remaining optimistic.
Gorjesspazze9 Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 It’s not a ballad. Y’all ain’t ready for that Tribal Trap beat drop
SinterFold_ Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 In closing Rihanna has taken risks her entire career and this instance is no different. I guess we just have to trust her the same way that we always have. But this indeed a RISK!

Rihanna usually finds success with her ballads. I would not be concerned.

Rihanna’s new song "Lift Me Up" was written as a tribute to the life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman by Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna and Ryan Coogler.
