Rihanna - "Lift Me Up"

Beautiful song but not the instant banger we were expecting. I imagine they're making this a more slow burner that lingers during Awards season and the album's first single comes closer to the Super Bowl.

I started warming up to it after a few streams.

Might be just me but the production (especially with this harp) is giving me a little Sufjan Stevens, and I absolutely love it.

Remember that this song isn't really for Rihanna's hardcore base

This is more for general public that don't listen to pop, dance and rnb music

Like a said in my prediction, this song will be like fourfiveseconds, a song that Rihanna's core audience doesn't listen to, yet over time the song found its audience and is now a classic with big streaming numbers

Rihanna has always experimented with variety of genres and sounds and has versatile discography

Yeah I don’t really see this having longevity. I just don’t understand why they would send a slow ballad to radio?? They should’ve either 1) released R9 lead single before black panther or 2) released this song together with the movie so that people can hear it in the context of the movie scene…

I actually fully disagree, they’re kind of promoting it perfectly. Fall is the best time for a ballad on radio and there really isn’t a big one at the moment. The initial push is smart because once it starts to fall the movie will pick it back up… especially over the holiday seasons when literal everyone goes to the theaters. :rip: Plus the song is a clear front runner at the Oscars so now you have this song for sure having legs into 2023. So yeah, what you said doesn’t really make sense

It gets better the more I listen to it :heart2:

It's cute I guess, wanted a banger but in context with the movie it makes sense

Just Happy she's back and can't wait for the Super Bowl and hopefully more music.

Well, I didn't expect this to leave it's #1 spot on US AM that fast.

Kinda early to tell if it's "over" but we shall see. It's pretty much safe to assume it'll get boosts during the release of the OST and the film, so that should guarantee some stability. It's impossible to tell what'll happen beyond that. :lakitu:

not the sales being stable and her rising on the second day on iTunes.

Still #1 on AM

Sorry to say but this is ABSOLUTELY smashing :deadbanana2:

The fact that a Soundtrack song chewed this bas before the premiere

This is doing disastrous numbers considering the amount of hype there was over the years for Rihanna’s comeback to music.

I guess no Drake means no hit.

Well, it's predicted to drop to 4.5M unfiltered streams today, so it might be below 4M filtered. A #1 debut seems no longer a possibility. A top 5 debut should still happen, though, which is great for a soundtrack. :clap3:
