I actually kinda understand why they went with this Ever since WFL Rihanna has had a reputation for somewhat unexpected lead singles. This is a bit of a bold choice, a very minimalist folk/R&B ballad is not what people expected. The melody is also very strong IMO and I understand why they thought it might be a hit, it's just that production-wise it never takes off

"Work" was the lead single from 'Anti'. If you're referring to "FourFiveSeconds", whatever version of the album had that as the lead single was aborted; that song is a stand-alone single.

Breathe On Moi Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 I actually heard it on the radio tonight after not listening since release and it actually slaps tbh a grower incoming

It still being 1# on iTunes Worldwide. And the movie is not released yet. You think that LMU is done. But its only the debut. People will love this song as much as I love. I have the feeling. And it will serve longevity

zzmyth Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Cute hold on Spotify. Nice radio update. Let's see what the film release does to it. Let's keep our hopes up. This is only the beginning
Jude Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Nnnn stabilizing already a few days before the movie. ATRL is not ready.
Jude Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Overall Radio 23 (=) Rihanna - Lift Me Up (From Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - Music From and Inspired By) - 41.14 (+0.83)
RihFenty20 Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Very cute updates indeed. Let’s see what the movie does for it. It’s very weird how at this point Rih still can’t stomp out of the gate. I know isn’t this a stomp worthy track, but I’ll kind of be disappointed that it still takes her time (and a movie boost) before her songs take off. I feel like she should be beyond that at this point.
