As Beijing holds its 20th Chinese Communist Party congress, which is expected to extend Xi Jinping's rule, immigrants from Hong Kong held a protest outside the Chinese consulate in Manchester, UK. The Chinese consul general Zheng Xiyuan and his staff then assaulted some of the protestors, taking and destroying their signs, dragging one of them into the consulate, and began to beat him up. Fortunately, local police were able to rescue the protestors.

Despite the video evidence, Chinese officials are claiming the protestor attempted to illegally enter the consulate.
