This one sounds the worst out of the one's we've heard. I don't get why they're making it a single...

@mlaredoperez yeah that snippet placement wasn’t an good choice for the song BUT “I’m Not Here To Me Friends” shouldn’t be pushed until summer

Gave it a listen, but it didn’t do anything to me. It’s all over the place and the highlights aren’t good enough to justify it. Unholy sticks out completely, so does random afrobeats track in the middle :deadbanana: The rest is mostly AC ballads or some mid tempo rnb leaning tracks with cute strings. Lose You is a gay disco banger, I imagined the whole album called Gloria would sound like this. I’m Not Here To Make Friends is a fan bop too, I think I mentioned before it was originally for Calvin’s recent project. The songs feel mostly very short and there are 3 interludes, pretty unnecessary, the first one especially could have just been tucked at the end of the song. Ed Sheeran being a feat choice for an emotional ballad about overcoming homophobia in society is also head scratching.

Is "how to cry" good?

OT: hmmm I'm gonna lower my expectations...

tbh I was expecting this after these snippets. I thought we were gonna get a DW type gay pop album :dancehall3:

Sis, don’t take peoples opinions to account for yourself, listen to the album what you think, @BlackoutZone I appreciate your input even tho you do have an problem with Sam due to the Kesha/Kim Petras situation but again I appreciate that you seemingly did enjoy SOME of the album but that’s you’re opinion and very welcomed to it, I’m very excited for the album

This is what I'm expecting. I don't know... it is the first time I am not really excited about Sam's album. :/

Still can't stand "Unholy." And what's with the song lengths??? This trend needs to die ...now.

It's a purely acoustic ballad, no significance for me

No, it's not based on BZ's opinion. I just don't like anything I've heard so far apart from "Lose You" and I can't stand songs that don't have a proper ending (or adequate song structure) but instead end pretty much abruptly because of the trend/need to have as short a song as possible nowadays. :/

I wish they'd give us more of "For the Lover That I Lost" (which I still think is one of the best songs of 2019/2020) and less of "Unholy." In fact, none of the latter, if possible...

Anyway, they are having a lot of success at the moment, and I am glad to see that, even if I am not the target audience this time.

@elvenOCEAN the album is literally the same time length as Sam’s first two albums, if you want longer album, there is an 20 track deluxe coming if that’s your looking for

I haven’t really been keeping up with Sam or this era in general for a while. But I’m glad they’re smashing currently with unholy. Whatever the hate it’s nice to see some LGBT+ representation at the top of the charts so I hope the momentum can keep up once they release the album.

From what I’ve heard from the clips the album is really shaping to be my fav after the thrill of it all :foxaylove2:

any idea what the second single with will be and when it will be released? :foxaylove2:
