mercurialworld Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 From The Star: Quote Toronto cannabis shoppers will be able to request cannabis deliveries through Uber Eats starting Monday. The food delivery platform owned by U.S. tech giant Uber Technologies Inc. announced a partnership with online marijuana marketplace Leafly on Sunday that will see it process pot orders for retailers Hidden Leaf Cannabis, Minerva Cannabis and Shivaa’s Rose. The partnership will mark the first time Uber has facilitated the delivery of marijuana anywhere in the world. What do you think? Would you order cannabis through Uber Eats if it was available in your city?
Gesamtkunstwerk Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 The way some people will never leave their house now Anyway, both Uber and cannabis is illegal here, so I guess not !
JonginBey Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 Cannibal is all I kept thinking about. I’m so stupid
zasderfght Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 I wouldn't: 1. I have a medical card, so I wouldn't have to pay taxes on cannabis when shopping for cannabis products at dispensaries for medical users (in my state, cannabis is legal for recreational use for adults 21+). 2. Even if Uber Eats honored medical tax exemption, it would still be cheaper to go to my local dispensaries, since it's just 10 minutes away from my apartment. It's customary in the States to tip as well as pay any service/driving/delivery fees. 3. My extremely unpopular opinion: while cannabis appears to be more benign in terms of side effects and there hasn't been a reported, lethal overdose, there just is not enough research to say the benefits of recreational cannabis use outweigh the risks. I know cannabis made my anxiety worse, as well as for some close friends of mine. My best friend swears on cannabis for his chronic pain and anxiety attacks-- he's one of the lucky ones, I guess. I just think there's a reason doctors don't recommend cannabis for mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, or for chronic pain. There are medications, such as SSRIs and SNRIs, that are probably safer and more effective for treating certain mental illnesses. Do I think cannabis should be federally legal, however? Absolutely. We won't ever get more research unless healthcare professionals are able to study and research a federally-legal substance. And of course charges can be dropped for non-violent cannabis possession, especially non-violent cannabis possession of people of color.
