fridayteenage Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Quote the third title to reach the top 10 by appearing on Country Airplay but on no other individual genre chart (since Radio Songs became an all-format summary in December 1998). It joins Combs’ “Forever After All,” which reached No. 10 on Radio Songs in June 2021, and Cole Swindell’s “She Had Me at Heads Carolina,” which hit No. 9 on Radio Songs earlier in October maybe they weigh country too heavily. if it never happened for 22 years and now it's happened thrice in 1.5 years.

It only makes sense, that other current formats (Pop, Rhythmic and Urban) have lost more listeners than Country.
Bingo Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 DOJA Why is radio always so slow smh 'Vegas' was all over my TikTok FYP back in june-july and I kinda overplayed it atp. Had radio supported this song back then, it could've been a huge hit. Oh well, it still managed to become a top 10 hit without any promo, so that's impressive.
glamrock<3 Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 (edited) Another week at #1 for my rookie of the year, Mr. Lacy Bad Habit vs. Unholy so tight in points Another one of my favs, Ms. Cat gaining another top ten this year. If she doesn't win best pop female at this year's American Music Awards, I'll have to get my paws up! ***No other female pop artist has dominated pop radio as hard as Doja has this year, so I'm voting for her to win at the AMA's!*** Edited October 17, 2022 by glamrock<3

Jude Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 Why is Morgan top 5? America is disgusting! Doja, princess of rap in the top 10, twice! Nicki queen of rap.

The south still listens to radio but the rest of the country doesn't, that's what's happening The monoculture is dead, the Hot 100 now represents the various competing ethnicities within the United States. Bad Bunny's forever charting songs = Latin people. Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs hits = southern whites. Harry Styles and Sam Smith = coastal urban white girls and gays. We just need a rock hit to represent the non-country straight white guys.

Prior to “Vegas” and “I Like You,” she tallied “Say So,” featuring Nicki Minaj (No. 1, one week, May 2020); “Kiss Me More,” featuring SZA (No. 3, July 2021); “Need to Know” (No. 8, November 2021); and “Woman” (No. 7, this May). She boasts the most top 10s among women this decade, surpassing Taylor Swift’s five since the start of 2020 (although with Swift appearing primed to reignite that race thanks to her LP Midnights, due this Friday). Billboard always ignores 34+35 Remix for Doja Yeah, I don’t understand why they always forget about it. Edited October 18, 2022 by Capruni

ClashAndBurn Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 Why would Lil Baby and Taylor Swift give a single **** about The Weeknd holding an irrelevant record on a chart that lost its own relevance ten years ago when Maroon 5's radio fodder blocked the cultural zeitgeist that was Gangnam Style? Let's be honest about one other thing: if they didn't arbitrarily change their recurrency rules to **** over Uptown Funk, there's a good chance there wouldn't even be a record within reach for most other songs. It's not the job of other artists to preserve records that they don't even hold themselves.
