GardenPanty Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 That user a couple pages back who said if Dua released this it would receive massive critical acclaim spilled. This album is pop perfection (minus How Long) and it's a shame that it won't get the recognition it deserves. I might be in the minority here but I'm glad she delayed the album, I feel like the viral tweets and Miracle helped give Ellie more exposure.

Delirious Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 I feel like anytime Ellie GOULDING'S name is associated, people just think it's going to be generic, bland sell out music made for playlists. But only boomers think that from the looks of it since a lot of gen Z locals loved close to me and hate me dearly

Kristen Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 This is extraordinary. She finally sounds like she threw ~*artistic*~ caution to the wind in favor of making the purest, most blissful kind of pop (it often plays like Sophie Ellis-Bextor at her best)! I had all but given up on her after these past few albums, but wow. What a glorious surprise!
Delirious Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Not at the album getting panned critically left and right

Saint James Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 future nostalgia is a high bar for pop songs. so far this is giving me BIBO Rare Glory etc which is also where Delirium belongs
Delirious Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Like at this point I guess as long as fans love this album, who cares about the critics The album has been receiving great reviews on atrl, twitter etc
ToMmY Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 I'm amazed, stunned, shooketh, etc. This is easily my favorite album released this decade so far. Not a single bad song. I might have to officially become an Ellie stan. I need to see her live so bad.
yourcloud Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 I'm whelmed. It is not bad, but it feels so sanitized. I guess we will always have Bright Lights.

Delirious Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Close to me (red velvet or solo version) is the best song on brightest Blue
Saint James Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 they wasted their money with the sample on Tastes Like You. I can only imagine how much that cost
wren Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 I don't care if critics hate this; sometimes I just want a fun pop record with hooks, nostalgic love/new love lyrical themes, good beats/instrumentals - like not everything has to be ground breaking edgy and revolutionary. A lot of these songs I will be listening well into the summer - this album will be one of the highest come year end I already know.
Saint James Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 All By Myself was blacked out but I listened anyway, it's a cute closer. Has more going on than the other songs
